After over 80 purchases, I'm about caught up with the titles I want to buy on the VC back-catalog and now it's time to really get down to playing and beating a few of them. But I can't help but look ahead a few years. I'd like to think that my "investment" will be useful for a long time to come. Putting aside the possibility of my Wii breaking and being sent in to Nintendo for repair or transfer to a new Wii, I'm thinking about whatever platform Nintendo will create after the Wii. Call it the Wii 2, the Wii HD, or something else entirely. Would you agree that it's an almost certainty that Nintendo will devise - as it has for the DS -> 3Ds - some mechanism to transfer and continue use of your existing Wii VC purchases on the Wii's successor? Just looking for a little reassurance, I suppose.
