According to GoNintendo and Wikipedia, Super Turrican (but not ST2 or Mega Turrican) was removed yesterday, March 7th.

I just called Nintendo (because I'm pretty upset, as I planned on buying it this(!) weekend), and they said that they had no internal data on the removal. They said it could simply be a "lapse" where the game is unavailable for whatever reason for a short time. But they had no idea beyond that.

Would anyone care to check and see for themselves (and post back)? I won't have access to my Wii for a while still.

I'm from germany. I just checked the shopping channel and Super Turrican and Mega Turrican are both still there. Super Turrican 2 wasn't released in Europe (on the Virtual Console).

I hope they don't go down because Factor 5 is gone and can't renew anything. I'm glad I got the the three already available Turrican games.

EDIT: Also thinking this probably means if anyone is interested in the other Turrican games they should grab them before they're gone.

Thanks for replying guys. I wasn't aware that Factor 5 was defunct. That very well could be the reason.

In the US:
Super Turrican (added March 3, 2008) (removed March 7, 2013)
Mega Turrican (added April 14, 2008)
Super Turrican 2 (added September 29, 2008)

Notice how Super Turrican was removed after almost exactly 5 years. If the pattern shown here can be believed, then we can predict that Mega Turrican will be the next to be removed in the US, sometime around the middle of April. And around the end of September, Super Turrican 2.

The PAL data doesn't support this "theory," however. According to Wikipedia and Omega, Super Turrican was added Feb. 29, 2008, and hasn't yet been removed. Maybe the standard length of time in the licensing contracts are different between the NTSC and PAL regions, but I don't know for sure.

Nintendolife should make a news about this.

I'm just going to repeat what I said there, maybe they are going to include the original in Rebirth? Just a thought.

It seems NoA was equally unaware and unhelpful during the removal of the DKC trilogy.

The people working Customer Support seem friendly enough, but the department's lack of actual information is troubling. If they don't know, who does? If we need actual information or help, what are we supposed to do? It reflects badly on the company as a whole.

Actually this is common. They don't have to give anyone reasons for their decisions

If they are "support" they need to have information, not only words and words without content.

Which game do you think is the better version, Super Turrican 2 or Mega Turrican? I just might pick them both up since I never played them when I was younger.

Its worth getting both. Mega Turrican plays closer to the Super Turrican. But Super Turrican 2 adds a lot of new things. It feels different, but still good.

I was really impressed with all 3 games. Plus they are challenging but not impossible to beat.

Well, if you change your mind later, it's relatively much cheaper to get a physical copy of Mega Turrican than Super Turrican 2 (though both will still cost more than VC).

Just want to tell you guys that Super Turrican is back on VC. It seems it was only a mistake, or temporary removal like they said on that reply.

I was worried we would never see it again, but it's back.Rejoice!
