I'm sure this probably belongs in another thread but I couldn't find one.Does anyone know of a good way to get Frog coins? I want the badge that gives you double exp points but it's 22 frog coins. I've got like 9.I just got the third star if that tells you anything about how far I am into it.

If you go back to that waterfall, you can do that sequence a few times over for Frog Coins. Also, do your best to find all the hidden treasure boxes along your way, and if you find that Jam in the Sewers for Frogfucius (i forget when exactly you get the chance to do that), he gives you a few Frog Coins too iirc. so long as you don't spend any of them on the BS items the tadpoles sell, you should have Coins enough to nab that badge in no time.
To be honest, though, with the level cap at 30, it's not hard to get up there by the end of the game, so that double-exp badge is pretty useless IMO. Just make sure to fight every single enemy you come across, no running away, and you'll either be at or very close to 30 by the time you battle Smithy.

Thanks for the help. I haven't died yet so maybe I will be fine anyway when I get to the end. Never actually played through it before to be honest, and that's saying something, cause I always play through Mario games! RPG usually isn't my style though. I'm enjoying this one though.I think I've got Mario at level 11 or so right now...can't remember for sure. About to leave Moleville and go to the tower.

Booster Tower is a great place to level if you want to hang out for a bit and get ahead, lol. It's one of my favorite areas of the game, and then what happens afterward is great too, but i won't spoil it for you :3

Sounds good. I'm guessing my characters are at decent levels right now, since, like i said, i haven't died yet, and haven't really even come close to it. I took some time out to fight the wiggler's in the forest and got my coins and exp up a little bit. I like to figure out a lot of the games myself, but out of anticipation to get off from work and play the game, i've taken a look at some walkthroughs and stuff for the upcoming area and was glad to see that it looks like Bowser is about to join. Thanks for the help again.

Well, I guess while we are at it, what is some of the most suggested items to get with the frog coins??
7. Posted: Thu 1st Mar 2012 18:19 GMT
Just hold on to them for now. A little further on, you'll come to a point where you can use them for some much nicer items than what they're trying to sell you down at Frogfucius' place. :3

I should have known not to trust a bunch of frogs.I think I just wanted that exp badge since I get kind of bored fighting a never ending trail of wigglers to slowly get exp points. Not that it's difficult to do that. I just don't have much time ya know? Got a full time job and I'm married!

Just remember that your EXP earned is the same for everyone in your group, you don't have to actually have them in your party at all. compared to other RPGs, it actually makes things a lot easier for you :3
also, if it's just EXP you want, and you want it now now now now nowwwwwwww, whenever you come across an area with a Starman and a bunch of enemies to defeat (and there's one coming up after the Booster events are over and done with), make sure you save beforehand — but remove all your equipment first. then go ahead and get the star, kill all the enemies and rake in the EXP, and when that's over, find an enemy and let it kill you (WITHOUT saving beforehand). When you Game Over in SMRPG, you don't lose any EXP and you respawn at the last Save Point you used, so that Starman will be there for you to get again (since you saved before using it) — as well as all those enemies to defeat with it. You can level up very, very quickly with that cheat if you don't want to go about it the legit way. :3

I read about that before. As tempting as it is, I do want to try to keep from cheating. Do you have a real suggested level to be at by the time you get Bowser or to the tower??

@Joshers: the way I play, I consider 'at level' to be where I can go through an area and each of the characters in my party will be able to wipe out a normal enemy in one turn with physical attacks. when I reach that point, I know the next boss will be a snap — it's probably overkill, but i've played the game so many times through that it's the habit i've gotten into, lol. again, if you make a point to defeat every single enemy you come across, even if you go through the same area twice to go back and get something you missed, it's easy to keep your level up.
To be honest, though, I don't really know exactly what level that is at Booster's Tower, but I do know the Tower is a great place to sit and level if I'm not quite there yet because there are points where enemies just scroll across the screen and you can either choose to fight them or avoid them — they literally come to you, so you can just keep pressing A (and don't forget those Timed Hits!) and rake in the EXP that way if you want.

Alright. Thanks again. I'll try to leave you alone now about it! Kind of sucks when you want to play a game real bad and you are stuck at work constantly.

haha, it's no big deal. i've loved this game ever since the first time i played it, i know it in and out like the back of my hand. if you need help with anything, let me know :3

I remember getting to level 30 as I was going to fight the secret boss (the crystal thing that I guess is supposed to be a Final Fantasy parody, even including FF boss music.. and if you win, it even plays the FF victory music instead of the normal SMRPG win music).

yep! the Culex battle is fun. you don't need to be 30 to fight him, though — you just need the Lazy Shell and Toadstool in your team with Come Back :3
