What is the first level in this game? I just downloaded this & paper mario n64 on my wii because never played either one on my n64. Neatless to say to make a long story short when we got the n64 many years ago when it was new at the time we had two games for it donkey kong country & banjo & kazooie but took back the system & the two games back to best buy because of control issues in the game system.

Anyway's lol not having any trouble playing N64 games on my wii with the control's like years ago with my original n64. But am a little confused as to how to play Super Mario N64 I started off in the game & it say's I have to jump into painting's. I jumped into one painting where I have to push a giant bomb whereing a crown off a cliff lol. How do I do that exactly? & is that the first level? Or the second or third level? Just a little confused...

Thank's in advance! ;)

Happy Gaming! (^_^)

Watch any of the 1000s of playthroughs of this game on YouTube, and you will get your answer.
Here is just one of them:

I like how the game hansn't just been overdone now, but now it's been overdone to the 5th Power. And yet, Barbiegurl777 who asked this question didn't seem to know about it. XD

@Electricmastro

I understand mario has been re-done as far as older titles being remastered for newer system's. I'm just confused on how to play super mario n64. I never played super mario n64 til on my wii yesterday when i downloaded it.

Not all people have played SM64... I have, but some haven't. It's like how I never played Star fox SNES in my whole life.

Just walk up behind the giant Bob-omb and grab him with the B Button. Throw him onto the ground on top of the mountain to damage him. Don't throw him off the side of the cliff, or he's going to fly back up with full health.

Thank You! That's what I said about not playing it before. When I looked it up on the wii this game apparently came out in 1996 I didn't get my N64 til 1998 so there's no way how i would have known about the game being out at the time. Plus my dad loves donkey kong another reason why we got donkey kong country & banjo & kazooie we literally took back the system & the two games back to best buy the next year which would have been 1999 the only reason how I remember is because it was the only system we ever had trouble with. With not working correctly. You hit the controls to move up the controls went down you hit the controls to turn left the controls went right in the game the controls were topsy turveey which made playing those two games really hard. Loved the graphic's but took the system back out of frustation with the controls having weird problems.

I downloaded several N64 games on the wii through the virtual console service & have not had the same issues. So who know's.

@KingMike,

I'm using a white classic controller to play both super mario n64 & paper mario n64. That'll work? It tells me in super mario n64 to hit the z button I guess referring the n64 controller to throw the bomb off but that's great if the b button will work instead. Thank you! Will try that instead. :)

A common problem caused by having the controller upside down.

For N64 games, I would recommend the GameCube controller.

Lol. To be fair, there is no right way to hold an N64 controller. Those things are monsters.

I'll think of something...

Let's make one thing VERY clear. I know how to hold a controller for one. Two when I had the N64 I was holding the controller right side up like a normal person would who play's video games. Some one that play's video games pretty regularly is going to know how to hold a controller unless there new to gaming or they want to mess around with the game system for fun. I take gaming seriously when it comes to playing my video games regardless.

We had the N64 controller right side up but there was a technical glitch with in the system that was making it act goofy. Nothing me or my dad could do to control that at the time except to take the system back to where we bought it & get our money back for it. End of story. Besides I was asking for help on Super Mario N64. I was explaing the other to explain as to why I never played super mario n64 before because I know it's an older game.

Agree, especially if you can find a Wavebird.

@Tasuki

What is a wavebird?

I have a gamecube controller. It's generic from gamestop. Would a real gamecube controller work on the wii?

I got the one from gamestop because they said it would work with the wii & it does but feel's so generic.

Thanks in advance! ;)

This is a Wavebird. It's Nintendo's wireless controller for the Gamecube. Hard to find nowadays without paying a fairly steep price.

And yes, real/official Gamecube controllers work on the Wii.

Yeah I was lucky and found mine a few years back at Gamestop for 20 dollars but since GS no longer sells Gamecube stuff the only place you can probably find one is online.

Ok, I hate to be a jerk, but holy crap. I cannot believe you actually spelled the word wearing like that... I mean really? That's such a basic word that most 7 year olds can spell.

Way to be a jerk about one mispelled word.

@Vio

So I suppose you NEVER mispell anything?

It was late at night. I was tired. When I'm sleepy I don't alway's think of exact spelling of words. Yeah my english isn't perfect.
