Topic: Super Mario Kart: Worth It?

Hello fellow Nintendo Life members!

I have something to ask of you: do you think Super Mario Kart is worth a VC purchase?

I will say i have DD, 64, and Wii, so is it worth it? I wanted the game because it was a long awaited classic to come to VC, and it looks like a great game.
So, i bought 2,000 + a 100 i had left over, i had 2,100 points. So, i went ahead and got A Link To The Past today, and now i wonder, should i go for Super Mario Kart Or Not? Here are the rules:
If you do not think SMK is worthy of a purchase or just want to recommend something else, it MUST be 800 wii points or less, nothing higher. Also, not trying to be picky, but recommend something with 16-bit graphics, the Mega Man games are enough 8-bit for me

I wouldn't know - not played it since 1995 since Nintendo still haven't released it here in the UK!!

While Super Mario Kart is fun, it can't outmatch the 3D games. Pass it and get Bit.Trip Core. Very fun music game with awesome chiptunes.

Super Mario Kart is very, very worth it. It was the first racing game I ever played, and a very excellent one at that. I highly recommend it.

I love Super Mario Kart. If you can stand the rubber band AI in 150cc and have a friend to play the outstanding multiplayer with, it's definitely worth it.

Never will i purchase one of those games from h***.

They are just too hard and SMK would be better for me

Super Mario Kart was one of the games my sister and I practically played to death. Get It!

CORE is the hardest one. one the whole, though, the series is really not particularly difficult. you said you own the megaman games. every one of those is harder than the Bit. Trips.

Super Mario Kart (SNES) is my favorite game of the series and imo one of the best offline-multiplayer games of all time, i still play it to death on splitscreen when me and my brother are at home...

Meh. Why get a 16-bit version you'll hardly play since you have the newer versions of it? Get Actraiser instead.

The 16-bit version is awesome. There's something about it that's really silly. The Monty Moles are just annoying when they latch onto you and the only way you can get them off is by driving into the water. Since I didn't know what any of the enemies were, I just called them the "kewie kewies".

@StarFox: You get Monty Moles off by jumping several times. :3

Anyways, the game is worth it for the killer soundtrack and nostalgic feel. And anyone who argues with that can bite me. >:3

The game is great
but on 100cc the computer starts to throw cheating up to 11

Here's a more viable question:

I've got all the SNES courses unlocked on the GBA game Super Circuit, is it still worthwile to download the original SNES version.
