Topic: Strange game crashing glitches and other strange things you have encountered in virtual console games

We've all been there we are in the middle of a boss fight and your character does some weird moon jump and never comes back down which effectively forces you to reset your game and start back at the last save point/checkpoint this is a topic for us to chronicle all of the strange things that have occurred whilst playing games on the Wii virtual console

The most recent glitch I encountered was in Zelda ALTTP (snes) While I was in dark world I used the magic mirror to go to the light world but when I got there link disappeared only his shadow was visible,and though I could move his shadow I couldn't use items or enter buildings thus forcing me to open the wii menu and click the reset button.......has anyone else encountered any weird glitches on your virtual console games?

When I threw my Wii at the wall that one time, it exploded and I wasn't able to finish Super Metroid. That was weird.

But no really the only game I had trouble with was Majora's Mask, it froze several times. The one I remember was fighting the Great Bay miniboss and getting stuck in the air. I could move around but not get down or hit the boss, so I was pretty stuck. Lost a lot of progress to that one. D:

When I first downloaded Sonic 2 on the VC, the Casino night level was filled with graphical glitches. I deleted the game from SD card and re-downloaded it. Its been fine ever since.

In Final Fantasy III sometimes the wrong music track plays and the most noticeable one I encountered was the chocobo's theme playing during a boss battle xD

Wow, that almost makes me want to download it from the VC even though I have all 3 NA physical releases.

If you had the Blast Mask or any bombs you could explode yourself to death to respawn to get out of it if the enemy couldn't hit you. Or play the Song of Soaring.

I've had Paper Mario freeze once on me before (in the desert). In MUSHA, the sound quit while I was playing it. At first I thought it was the TV, but it wasn't. I'll have to redownload that one.

On Super Mario Bros. 3 sometimes "there is about a 1/2500 or so chance that the game will get confused when you get a raccoon tail power up and you will get a P power up instead!
This has only happened to me three times even though I have put 100s of hours into the game,also I can't remember if this bug was present in the NES version as well since it has been over 16 years since I played it on my NES

Beyond Oasis on Genesis gave me some trouble.
The game would glitch out on me and had to be reset.
I was really far into it once and lost all my progress.
DKC 3 also had graphical glitches on the world map.
It happened everytime I was on the final world.

Sometimes sonic will fall through the ground to his doom for some reason on the genesis Sonic the Hedgehog games

There are parts of the background missing on Hon Fu's stage in Fatal Fury 3. Its a black bar across the screen in the background.

Don't know if the original NeoGeo version was like this.

If you put B**** RIDLEY MOTHER F***ER on Metroid on 3DS and it will freeze and you have to restart the game.FYI make sure to enter the actual words.

In Breath of Fire II sometimes the game will freeze when you have Ryu go fishing

The first word is ENGAGE, and it crashes because the letters result in a data sequence that happens to pass the game's error-detection test, even though the data doesn't convert to a valid game state. So the game ends trying to read garbage data as program code.
Though that's not really a VC bug because it will crash on a real NES as well.

I downloaded Samurai Showdown and only saw a black screen with sound playing. I know it has to do with the component cables not being able to display interlaced graphics properly. Does this issue only happen with Neo-Geo games, or is it present in other VC games as well?

One time in Super Mario Bros. 3, I arrived to the end of a fortress, and Boom-Boom wasn't there.

I was just playing Sonic the Hedgehog 1, and in Marble Zone Act 2, in the part where you go to the left over the pool of lava, there is a shield box at the beginning of that part. If you hit it from the bottom, the game will push Sonic through a wall, near the end of the stage!

I've gotten a few graphical glitches in Super Mario RPG.
Sonic Chaos freezes in the intro once in awhile.
