So far we have all the Sonic's on the VC, except for Sonic & Knuckles. I'm not sure if it's because of trouble implementing the lock on feature or what. But this Sonic game should've been on the VC a long time ago.

It was rated quite awhile ago, so the fact that we haven't got it yet is rather surprising, particularly with all the other games having been released. Honestly though, anyone with a Wii that wants to play it might as well buy the Sonic Mega Collection on the Gamecube. Much more value for money than buying the VC releases seperately, and if i remember correctly, it includes the special features you'd get by using the Lock-on technology between the games.

They must be saving it for some good date or reason I guess?! ;)
And yes this is the last Sonic game for the VC; like Zelda MM is the last Zelda... but that might be our #300 game if it does happen on May 18th! ;)

I like to think they'll release it on June 23rd, as that's an extremely important date in the world calendar.

Considering the difficulty Sega claim to have had implementing Lock-On with Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection to you across-the-ponders) I'd wager they're trying to get it working on Wii but will eventually not bother as it'll just be too much bloomin' hassle

I am not ignoring you. I just do not post much.

I finally just broke down and bought a new Sonic & Knuckles game for my JVC X'Eye console. I got tired of waiting on the VC version to come. :)

I think the last time a Genesis Sonic came out was 2007. It's 2009 now. WAY overdue. Come on Sega.

I'm just not sure why this game hasn't been released yet. Even without the lock-on feature it's a great game and surely it can't be that difficult to get the lock-on feature to work since programmers who created the emulators certainly haven't had any trouble doing it. :)

I would bet it will show up once Nintendo of Japan releases it. I don't think its on the their VC yet.

Really? They had trouble with that? They managed to get it working on the Sonic Mega Collection OK and, before that, on Sonic Jam on the Saturn (which I though was the best method as you could lock the virtual cartridges of all the Sonic games together).

Not to mention Sega is allowing the Xbox Live Arcade release of Sonic & Knuckles to interact with Sonics 2 and 3 for lock-on play. I don't think Sonic 1 was mentioned, so Blue Sphere lovers are out of luck.

It should be fully capable of interacting with Sonic 2 and 3 on the VC

Nintendo is trying to figure out how to implement a drag-n-drop feature so they can sell you Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 3 separately; and then have you connect the two channels.

A drag and drop feature o_O? I will give Nintendo a PRRRROMOTION if they do that!

I don't understand it, but you know what they say.

@Mariofan5000
I really doubt it, 32X is a pain in the a** to emulate. And Sega isn't really into emulation.
