I have completed Mega Man I for the first time, and I want to now conquer Mega Man II for the first time too. I just want to know how diificult the hard mode is,because the hardcore side of me says,Play difficult mode!

well, i've been playing the easy mode on MM2, and it is....well...easy!

haven't tried difficult mode though, so i guess it's about as tough as MM1

Enemies can take twice as much more hits. I don't think there are changes in bosses attack pattern.

Everything is more aggressive, and have higher defenses. I beat it on Difficult. It is hard, and i can understand why that Japanese guy wrote the "Airman ga taosenai" song.

I have decided to try the Difficult mode.
Strangely,it isn't as hard as I thought. So far,I completed Flash Man and Quick Man's stage already. The only thing I hate were the pipes of death in Quick Man's stage.

It's more than just "enemies take more hits." Many of them have second forms that you don't see in "easy" mode.

Honestly, I'd play it through first in easy mode, without any question. It'll make the differences that much more satisfying when you recognize them in "difficult" mode.

Megaman 9 for WiiWare drove me nuts. Turns out there are even a medium and hard mode as downloadable content. I had never played a Mega Man game before so it was kind of a shock to see how hard the game was.

I'm going to pick up Megaman 1,2 and 3 for the VC too because even though Mega Man 9 was difficult, it was also damn fun.

Sorry, but I think I will complete the Difficult mode first [it feels strangely easier then Mega Man I so far..]. I already started before you posted anyway.
My problem is not the enemies but the @@## boss Wood Man,so I guess I need to figure out his weakness, and then teach him a lesson.

On second thought, easy mode is very tempting because of two @@@$$$ bosses [Wood Man and Crash Man].

"Difficult mode" was actually the only mode in the original - "Normal mode" was added to the American and European releases, and lowered the difficulty quite a bit by screwing with damage date.
So yeah, "Difficult mode" isn't any harder than the only mode you get to play in the other games in the series, and shouldn't be called difficult by any stretch.

I'm going to be honest, once you beat Metal Man it's not hard at all.

There's a few tricky things in MM2, but honestly, having beat MM1 yourself, I think you'll be fine. (Yay for Energy Tanks!)

You look to be getting along well, but for anybody else who might be reading and wondering, I'd say anyone who can beat Mega Man 1 can pretty well take MM2; none of the bosses have attacks harder to avoid than MM1's Fire Man, as far as I'm concerned. If all else fails, just remember that Metal Man's weapon beats pretty much every non-boss enemy--and a lot of the bosses too, for that matter.

Wily's ship is actually pretty damn hard. One of the toughest Mega Man bosses out there.

I sent Metal Man to the scrapyard. But,I still can't defeat Crash Man! Time to visit Air Man!

That's good, since Crash Man no-likey Air Shooter.

Also, he jumps only when you shoot. >_> hint hint

I'm going to hold my judgement until I get to the Dr.Wily Stages, but MM2 seems easier to me then MM1. Butstill,I like MM2 better then MM1. What an awesome game. All Robot Masters are down, except for Heat Man.

I thought I heard that Rock Man 2 (Japanese version) was even harder than the Difficult level on our Mega Man 2 (though that might not be true). So if you want to be truly hardcore, you should find a Japanese Rock Man 2 cart and play that.

And I love the song "Airman ga taosenai".

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

It's not. "Difficult" is the default original difficulty level, "Normal" is an American-added easy mode.

Yeah, I looked it up and you're right. I wonder where I heard that then. I guess I'll never know.
