I just recently have been able to beat Super Mario Bros. 3 in 30 minutes and after I beat it and get the P-Wing reward I can beat it again in 15 minutes, I have to get the cloud from the sand world air ship so I can get past the castle before bowser's castle because it take to long. What I want to know is how long does it take you to beat Super Mario Bros. 3?
I never play with whistles anymore, so I don't know. We used to have Mario races in high school where we'd set up multiple TVs like in the hit movie The Wizard and see who could get the farthest in a particular Mario game without warps, spaceships, whistles, or star road in 30 minutes. I was just barely beaten by my friend who beat 3-3, I think.
Mario World was a little more intense since the game is so short and easy that three of us almost got to the final world.
Despite my best efforts I was unfortunately never able to complete the last world on Mario Bros 3 so a speed run would be completely out of the question.

mmm... The Wizard, Damn That Power Glove they made me want to buy!!! yea It is fun without wistles I was just wondering what was the best times out there.
He said he beat it in 30 minutes. That's very clear in the first post. But his last post makes me wonder if that was with or without whistles. Now that I think of it, it probably isn't even possible to beat that fast without whistles, so nevermind.

I've never really time myself playing Super Mario Bros. 3 but, I know I could get through almost the first two worlds with no power ups and no death in 10 minutes. I've been trying to see how well I could do a speed run of Mario 3 just so I could show all the people on youtube who use Tools & Emulator hacks to do speed runs, imo the only good type of speed run is with the original console and actual game.
