Wow, Nintendo Life is late with the updates. Maybe there's more? Probably not, but this is still an great Christmas offering.

But since Pilotwing didn't come out yet, I have to make time to watch an hour of the PC Engine version of Street Fighter II: Champion Edition. It's going to be boring.

No. They tend to do updates later now than they used to. I think they actually wait for the games to be available on the Shop than just reacting to the press release.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Ah, yes. Soon all of America will realize how badly the original Smash Bros. has aged. The characters control is very clunky in camparison to later games in the series, to the point where (correct me if I'm wrong) you can't even turn around while running without coming to a complete stop. It's still playable, but I can definetly see some people regretting their purchase.

All that said, I will argue that this game had some of the most fun stages in the series. And it's good that people will finally shut up about it.

Besides that, I'm kind of disappointed with the update. I was looking forward to Uno, but while I can see the price being justified at 800, I just can't see myself forking over that much for it. And despite how big of a fan of animation I am, the concept of Dragon's Lair (push the correct button or you have to start over) just doesn't seem that appealing to me.

Sadly, the controls for the VC version are terrible.

Oh, and they should have added online to it.

Yeah, it's a very bad idea to believe Nintendo's press releases.

@pixelman: For all we know, they could change this all up. I'll wait until eleven in the morning for the update to see if they are right.

I really hope you guys are right about Super Smash Bros.. It's my fourth most anticapated title and it would be wonderful to finally see it get released. I would download it as soon as possible regardless of the situation.

It's a conspiracy! The Nintendo press team are risking their jobs for the chortles!

What do you mean by "the characters control is very clunky"?

IMO, Smash Bros. 64 hasn't aged a bit, aside from the lack of online play.

Actually the real cause of the delay is twofold:

1. We don't receive the press release until hours after the updates are in the Shop.

2. I'm only able to work on the press item when I have spare time at work!

Next they'll say that Nintendo Life Towers doesn't really exist and all the staff don't actually work on the site within the same room as each other!

@Strofan7: Thank you for letting us know. But now we ask the question. How did that get through the Virtual Console version? They obviously can't release Goldeneye007 on the Virtual Console and will probably never be able to. Prehaps Rare and Microsoft didn't know? Whatever it is, let's hope that they don't find out about this. One way is to stop talking about it now.

@SSBFan: Oh no! perhaps you should contact Rare, Microsoft, and the person/people who currently own the rights to the Bond universe to let them know this game features a proximity mine as an in-game weapon!
best idea ever, y/y?

Just got it, and dang, is it hard. I had to use two continues in 1P mode, on easy. Also, Jigglypuff beat me afterward, so I have to beat 1P again to unlock her.

lol I grew up playing this game. I remember beating the snot out of all my friends and they would get mad and then never play me in it again

A good signature doesn't need fancy pictures or drawings, just heart.
