Hi, I'm very late to the Wii Virtual Console (just bought my first Wii in Jan) and I have a question that the old timers may find quite banal. But... in my searching I often see Nintendolife cross referenced with http://www.vc-forums.com/ and vice versa. For example, many videos on NL mention the other site at the beginning. But it seems the two are no longer affiliated except by some common user names. Were these two sites once one and the same and if so why did they separate?

They were seperate before joining to become one. I was in the old VC-Forums but when I logged on last year the forums became NL.

Main Final Fantasy & Quest/Shinobi Team fan...but I do like many SEGA games and a few Nintendo games.

I can be cute if I want to be, but I choose not to...as it's not my style.

as i understand it, VC-Forums was not officially run by the guys behind VC-Reviews (or whichever site of the three it was affiliated with; i'd assume VCR but we all know what happens when we assume, haha), rather it was created on behalf of the site by an outside party. Don't quote me on that, though; i didn't bother signing up for a username until the merger and i wasn't really paying attention to the community (just the reviews and news, haha), so i can only relate what i've seen other people mention before. :3

Either way, when the three sites merged to become Nintendo Life as we know it now, Ant launched the new forums to go with it. VCF was left to its own devices at that point. Some of the users who frequented VCF stuck around for a while and then left, others are still here today, thus the common usernames between the two places.
