@Ogo79What did you think of the final battle against good ol Drac?
I thought it was easily one of the best end finale boss battles in the entire Belmont & BattyTastic franchise. 3 Forms this time around just like in III: Dracula's Curse. B-) The game could of been a bit longer, but that makes it even more appealing to just pick up and play and blaze through it all over again. Once you finish it you can select the 'classic' style jump instead of the default control your jump in mid air. Choosing to go Retro will definitly ramp the challenge up considerably. If Alf can beat it, Ogo can beat it. Sup! :p

What? Alf didn't tell you that you don't need to beat the game first to have the "classic" jump option? When given the option, I am Belmont boogieing my way to Drac.

I just beat Faxanadu via Wii's virtual console. It was my first time as I don't believe I had even heard of it back in the NES days.

@Rynooby

Really? I could of sworn the option wasn't there to from the start. Guessing I'm wrong! :p Gee wiz, what would the Cobra Commander think tee hee. lol
So you finished the game? I know you weren't to keen on the More cartoony & colorful visuals, but what did you think of the Genesis Arcadey' infused soundtrack, bosses and overall the game in general? I think it's the perfect pick up and play Vania, because it just has that weird Arcadey feel plus the fact that it's a wee bit on the short side in comparison to every other BeffierBelmont Entray' in the franchise. :p

i liked the whole game, i thought draculas 3 forms were cool, while playing the first form as easy as that was i knew the third was going to be kind of ridiculous. i just kept whiping away at him after i ran out of hearts and for some reason it wasnt taking any damage away. the guy called me "the ally of worthless humans" although true, i still felt the urge to bust out his teeth with the metal ball at the end of my whip. thats how vampire hunting goes. after about 113 more whip slashes he finally went down, him and his green tribal mask.
@Ryno
i cant remember if the classic control option was available before i beat the game. it showed up after i know that. but after i beat the game i erased my save and i dont think its there anymore.
im surprised nobody asked me how it felt to play a game that was actually made in this millenium

@ogo & WaveO: You guys must have got the Vampire Sucka edition instead if you didn't get the "classic" option at the beginning. :p I liked Rebirth for the most part though and you already know my thoughts on the visuals. I love the track on level number #2 which I had never heard before. The songs definitely have the Genelicious vibe to them. I didn't find the boss battles all that tough but they were still fun. The final three way was a blast from the past though. Overall, a satisfactory addition to the the Castlevania collection. Maybe we will see another multiplayer some day on the Wii U similar to Harmony of Despair and then we will witness Waveboy's wondrous whip wielding. Wow, we wish. Sorry, got a little carried away with the "w's" there...

Beat Super Mario RPG for the first time ever, yesterday!

I'd give it a good ol' 8/10. The gameplay holds up great (even if it's not utterly amazing). While innovative for the time, the pre-rendered graphics don't hold up too well, IMO. Story wise, it has it's moments, but isn't quite as humorous as newer Mario RPGs. Loved Mallow & Geno. The various Easter eggs were always fun to run into.

Also, I love the magic attacks in this game. They're so full of life and energy, you cringe when you get hit with something particularly flashy, lol (it truely has a unique look to it, that I haven't noticed anywhere else).

That secret optional boss has to be the highlight of the game, though. You'll need to know Final Fantasy to truely appreciate all the references in that fight, but even if you don't know much, it's still the most unique (and difficult) battle of the game.

@RR529

Even though I beat Super Mario RPG 15 years ago and have never played it since, I'd say you really nailed it in your mini review there. I'm hoping to replay it again someday. That secret boss, Culex, was pretty awesome. I loved the music that played during that fight. I didn't know it was from Final Fantasy IV until years later though.

The count will not stay out for the count for too long; he will be back next Halloween for another battle with the Belmonts.

Beat Ninja gaiden II today... And I loved the ending! TBH the final boss wasn't that tough when I knew the pattern... In fact not a single boss was hard except for the level 3 boss.

Adventures of Lolo (NES). Tough puzzle one, but enjoyable as there is no time limit. I just didn't realize this game was released when I was a kid.

I just finished Detana!!! Twin Bee. I had forgotten how much 'shumps (and apparently cute 'em ups), could be. As a result, I've downloaded and started playing Fantasy Zone and Bio-Hazard Battle. I haven't bought a Wii U yet, and the unexpected upside is that I am just now really exploring the goodness in the VC, and I've discovered just how underrated the TurboGrafix-16 was.
