Every Irem game on the North American and European VC:
Super R-Type (SNES)
R-Type (Master System)
Vigilante (TurboGrafx-16)
Ninja Spirit (TurboGrafx-16)
Legend of Hero Tonma (TurboGrafx-16)
Actually, these are the only ones listed as being from Irem when I checked the Shop channel.
Crap! They might have removed some of their games already!
The other games are all there, they're just not published on the VC by Irem. I just downloaded R-Type 3 to play it safe, and it had Jaleco listed as the publisher.
Oh man, when I think of IREM I think of one game, MetalStorm. Awesome, amazing game. Why oh why the heck did I have to sell that game when I got rid of my Nintendo! To bad that one is not coming to VC.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
I downloaded Super R-Type because that was actually published by Irem. R-Type III is more likely to be safe because that was published by Jaleco (If I end up liking Super R-Type alot, then I'll download that too). I probably would have never bothered to spend the points I have left anyways so here goes nothing!
I know Jaleco published the original US cartridge release of R-Type III, but they're credited with the VC release as well? I think it would still be affected as it is still an IREM game (and they published the Japanese and European versions).
Was going to download before it closed, but concerned I'd have to essentially spend $20 on Wii Points to get it, bought a cart.
Did download Irem Arcade Hits, which from what I understand is a legal PC emulator+games. So still some show of support, even if I'm not certain if the actual emulation quality is better than a certain other emulator.
Holy Diver needs to come out on VC one day. its like Castlevania and most US folks are missing out big time!

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
Just for anyone who is curious. The other Irem games (Vigilante, Super R-type, Hero Tonma etc. ) are still available. Only Sega's R-type is gone. If you downloaded it and need to re-download it then it is available under your "downloaded games" section of the Wii Shop.
Today I filled out my Club Nintendo survey for R-type. I voiced my concern that a VC game was removed from the service and how unhappy I am that no more VC games have been released for sometime now. I know it won't make much of a difference, but since they provided a survey I provided my honest answers.
The VC is back to its old tricks again. More games are set to leave including R-Type, Vigilante, Hero Tonma, and Ninja Spirit.
Yeah, this topic should be retitled to something like Upcoming removal of VC games.
Yes I agree
I'm starting to wonder how secure Hudson's games are on the VC now. Military Madness for Wii Ware is being removed and they have taken off a few other WW games(Pit Crew Panic and Diner Dash). I wonder if Hudson's VC games are next?
I´m worried about this situation. I will download Military Madness for Wiiware and do you recommend to download Vigilante and Hero Tonma too? I think 600 points each one deserves it very well.
Me gusta jugar videojuegos. Soy de México. Sorry my english grammar. I love the Virtual Console, party and fighting games too.

Vigilante is pretty good. Its short sweet arcade action. You can beat it in less than 1/2 hour. If you have played Kung Fu on the NES then its the same gameplay as Vigilante. I'm looking forward to trying Hero Tonma. I've heard it compared Ghosts and Goblins, but I've never tried it myself.
