When I go to the wii shop channel after I erase the game. SMB3 says is "downlaodable." so I think it might just be downloading the same. How do you erase the games memory without erasing the whole game??
The games saved information is separate from the game information. Under Channels is the game itself; under Saves (It might be called something else -- I forget) is where your saved info is, in this case your save state since I don't think SMB3 actually saves anything to the cartridge (i.e. the information saying that when you hit Wii Menu where you'll appear if you start the game again later). If deleting the save file doesn't work, you need to contact Nintendo, but I expect that should work.

Um... yes, that would be correct. It will download the same game everytime. I don't know why the black screen happened to me but just turning off my Wii and turning it back on solved the problem.
BTW, the black screen has happened to me on WiiWare games as well. Specifically, Onslaught and Brain Challenge.
My Wii is not hacked in any way and it hasn't been subject to being dropped or mishandled. I don't know what the problem is but whenever is has happened, simply turning off the Wii and turning it back on has fixed it for me (via WiiMote). Once I actually had to hold the power button down until it turned red.
What do you mean with "I think it might just be the game." (Maybe it's just because I'm german but I do not understand that.)
it sounds like Kizzi is saying that he believes the game itself he's been re-downloading from Nintendo is corrupted somehow.
either way, Kizzi, have you erased the savefile as well? Your save could be corrupted somehow, because the Wii automatically attempts to load your savefile every time you start up a VC game. just deleting the game file will not also delete the corresponding savefile.

Keep that in mind: If you erase your savefile, you have to start the game all over again. This could be painful if you reached already world 7 oder so. It may be better to follow pikmin95's and irken004's advice and contact Nintendo before doing anything else. (Or you should at least make a backup copy of your savefile to an SD card, just in case.)
@theblackdragon: Ha ha. This can't be true. Girls don't play with videogames because they want to do girly things like playing with barbie dolls, doing shopping or writing in their diaries.
Hey I have SMB3 on VC. The game worked fine for the first couple months, but now every time I try to play it won't work. I just get a black screen. When I start the game, it immediately goes to the home menu without me doing anything. I can see part of the game in the backround, but when I close out of it its black again?? I even tried erasing and re-downlaiding but that didn't work! What the heck is wrong?? Has this happened to anyone else??
It has, acctually. Do you live in a PAL region and are using component cables? You if so, open up the SMB3 operations guide by pressing on the home button and selecting "Operations Guide", then (with the Nunchuk attached) press Z + A + 2 simultaneously. If that doesn't work, call Nintendo.
