Hey I have SMB3 on VC. The game worked fine for the first couple months, but now every time I try to play it won't work. I just get a black screen. When I start the game, it immediately goes to the home menu without me doing anything. I can see part of the game in the backround, but when I close out of it its black again?? I even tried erasing and re-downlaiding but that didn't work! What the heck is wrong?? Has this happened to anyone else??
i've never had that happen to me with SMB3 before on VC. i would contact Nintendo if I were you.

Just redownload the game. I had similar problems with Legend of Zelda for VC (actually they were way more strange) and the redownload did it no prob. Plus, the channel and the save are stored seperately, so you'll get to keep your save.
I've had this happen to me too. I just downloaded it a few days ago. When I tried to play it this morning I got a black screen. I had to turn off the Wii and restart it to get it working again.
I have it saved to and loading from the Wii, not an SD card.
I have the same problem with Helix. I'm pretty sure that SD Menu games take the save data from the internal memory, am I correct? If so, my game has issues. I try to load it up from the SD Menu, but tells me that there are no files on the game. Strange. Can anyone help with this dilemma?
I can't stand it! I just erased it and redownladed it! it still doesn't work. The game isn't frozen either?? I know it's not the wii because my other VC games work fine?
So I assume that a) your Wii is OK (because other games work) b) the game is OK (because redownloading doesn't fix the problem) What happens if you erase your save-game from the internal Wii memory? (Of course make a backup beforehand on SD-card!) If you can start the game afterwards normally, then your savefile is probably corrupted.
I did. I erased the whole game from the wii memory. I think it might just be the game. Because when I re-download, I think it's just re-downloading the same game over again??
So you erased the game and the savefile from the internal memory. And you downloaded the game again. Right? And is it working now? What do you mean with "I think it might just be the game." (Maybe it's just because I'm german but I do not understand that.) If you erase and redownload a game, then the Wii is AFAIK copying the whole current file from the Nintendo-Server to your Wii console.
