Dreamcast, FTW. No joke. It's not an impossibility now. I'm dying to see it happen and if they ever did, I'd be so incredibly happy, even if the games were like 1,500 Points it would still be well worth it.
I would also like to see Sega 32x simply so I can own Knuckles Chaotix. I tried a ROM of it years back and loved it. It has its fans as does Sonic CD.
What about you? I know some have mentioned Atari and Game Boy (although that's more likely for the DSi now) but what other systems would you like to see appear on the VC?
Nothing really. I'd say Saturn, but Sega lost most of the source code for their games on it, meaning that the games available for VC would be pretty limited. I don't see Dreamcast happening, even with no more storage to worry about
It would be nice to see saturn and dreamcast support- but those games weigh too heavily. And as it stands, there are still a ton of games from the existing vc-supported systems that have yet to be released. The rate of weekly VC releases really needs to be increased.
Saturn would be great though download times may be more of an issue than storage now, 32X and Sega CD I would imagine would be easier to achieve, maybe handhelds too like Gamegear and Neo Geo Pocket and Wonderswan and all the Gameboy variations, though maybe DSI is a more likely place for those, there is Atari and Amiga though, and where is MSX is that even available in Japan yet, I guess it must be.
IF Atari 2600/5200/7200 Games hit VC for say.... 2/3/400 points I would be all over that (5200 WAS a good console it just had a bad control problem which would be fine with the wii)
Saturn and Dreamcast as unlikely as that is would be freakin epic.
I had an Apple IIe growing up. Would love to see some of those games again. Like, King's Quest, Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Winter Games, or Bruce Lee. But I guess some of those could possibly be released as C64 games.
I'm hoping right now that they release the DSi VC in the West. I'm starting to want to play my old Game Boy (Color/Advance) favourites...and I mean REALLY wanting to, not just a mess around for a few minutes til I get bored! As for the Wii VC, definitely Sega CD, since I can pick up Sonic CD and Knuckles' Chaotix (the latter of which I've never played). Oh, and the only games outside the boundaries of Nintendo that I play are Sonic games (and nothing else), but since Sonic has somehow become a 2.5-party Nintendo franchise (see: Mario & Sonic series, SSB Brawl, Sonic Rush series, Sonic and the History Lesson (Secret Rings and Black Knight) series), then technically I'm still a NintendoPurist _
Lucas: "Yes! I finally caught Magikarp!...wait a minute..."
"Pay me 20 Rupees and I'll talk." CHINK
"Never forget the comfort of freshly-washed shorts."
I totally second Cashman3000, I need me some King's Quest. In addition, I used to play this old game in 5th grade on the one computer we had; It was called Adventure. Anyone know the game I'm talking about?
tbh, as nice as saturn/DC would be, disc-based systems tend not to work...pretty surprised CD versions of Turbo games have come out. CD isos tend to be several-hundred megs minimum, and while saturn could technically be doable for certain games (I know a lot used CD audio, so with compression of the audio, maybe the size could work), the majority would just be too big for Wii's size limitations...and emulating Dreamcast directly would be waaay too system-resource-intense for the Wii...even ports of dreamcast games can get the occaisional bout of slowdown, and the programming of those games are optimized (or half-assedly optimized...looking at you Ultimate Shooting Collection) for the Wii's hardware.
Realistically, aside from WiiMame (thank god!!) I don't know what else we can expect...maybe more obscure old stuff like ColecoVision or something? Virtual-Boy maybe!?
