Topic: Opinions about My Plan on Spending my Wii Points

Posts 1 to 20 of 26

I have 2,100 Points as of right now & I know for sure I'm not going to spend them right way because I'd rather save them!

1,000 of those Points if going to be for SSB64 whenever it comes out; glad Europe is getting it this June... but will still be waiting for a NA release! I'm not worring though; like all of you know me anyway & read my posts before! I'm sure SSB64 will arrive either next Monday or sometime this June!

I've been contiplating though on still wanting to get LIT with 800 of my points though! I know its a very good game for other people praise & like it; but I'm still not sure about downloading it for I'm not big into horror games... but I like puzzle games! And its not that the graphics or gameplay turn me off; I just can't seem to find enough options to consider getting it! Reason why is because I can't find enough videos; for the ones I've seen aren't enough to convience me! If there is anyone who can help convience me with something more accurate than a simple video with the usual trailer; then that would help me out a bunch! I'm asking this because I'm not sure if LIT is definately worh the Points for me; but I do know I might want to add it to my WiiWare collection one of these days!

But anyway, if I do consider getting LIT for 800 Points; then that means I'll have 1,300 left to save for SSB64! Since I know I won't ever use 1,000 Points; that won't be a problem for me since there's nothing worth for me to download on the Wii Shop Channel that I truly want! I sometimes have a hard time saving points; but this time won't be a big deal! I still got Majora's Mask; while I wait for SSB64!

And I can easily get another $20 for another Points card; since I'm cutting grass for the family! So whenever I do get another Points card; I can have a total of 3,300 Points to spend/save!

Now since I'm going to try hard to save for SSB64; I'm also going to try & save points for Super Mario Kart! That's 1,800 Points just for those two games I'll be saving; out of a possible 3,300 Points total I could have when getting another Points card! And waiting for Super Mario Kart isn't a big deal for me either; like SSB64 I can wait for that too... no matter how long the wait is!

So that'll leave me with 1,500 out of a possible 3,300 Points to actually spend! I know for a fact that I can get another N64 game; & I'd much prefer Mario Golf 64 over Kirby 64... which I've come to the year long conclusion that is going to be my decision!

But there's is also Icarian Kindered Spirits to look forward to, which I can also wait to be released! Somehow I know that'll probably come out in June; but just not for June 15th... so maybe the week after that, but who knows?! My problem with waiting for Icarian isn't too big of a deal for me either; & I can easily replace Mario Golf 64 for that!

My last thing is I'll have 500 points left for a NES game to fill my collection with! I know I'm going for Ninja Gaiden 3; since I already got the 2nd one to go with the first one not too long ago!

So my point is I want some feedback on if this is a good plan of mine?! Anyone out there on NintendoLife to be kind enough to consider giving me their own opinions about my plan on saving/spending my Wii Points?!

That confused the hell out of me so all i will say is that its better to save for what you want than to impulse buy.

Hmmm...Mario Golf? Well, I've never seen why people love that title so much, but maybe that's just me. If I were looking to fill the hole left by it, go for something like Swords and Soldiers. As for Mario Kart, you can't go wrond there, so waiting on that is a good plan.

Lemme know what you think about Mario Golf when you get it.

First off I don't like Sword & Soldiers period; it turns me off with those ugly graphics.. end of story! So don't ask me why; I won't say why because I just don't like that game... kind of like with stupid StrongBad!

But anyway... yeah I like Mario games & Mario Golf has been a choice of mine since it first came out back in late 2008! Never got the points enough for it; but now I'm considering it since I got Majora's Mask the day it came out! And yes I know my plan is genious; I'm hyped up to save my points for SSB64 & Super Mario Kart!

Any opinions on LIT though people?!

low amounts of polish, low-quality environments, repetitive and boring gameplay

but overall a unique game

i just didn't like it

Well I wrote it out in simple but detailed word so people would understand the fullness of my plan! Sorry if it hurt your head; or anyone elses for that matter!

I'm write it out in a table to simplify it easier for others to understand:

Got 2,1000 Points & Saving 1,000 Points of that!
Considering LIT but still not sure about since I want opinions!
If I get LIT for 800 Points; my 2,100 goes to 1,300 Points total

I'll eventually get another Points card within the week; = 3,300 Points toal when I do so!
Saving 1,800 Points for SSB64 & Super Mario Kart no matter what; I can wait patiently no matter how long it takes!

1,500 left to spend!
I could get Mario Golf N64 or be wiser & save the 1,000 Points for when Icarian Kindered Spirits comes out; I'm only looking forward to that more than any other WiiWare title!
Last 500 will be for an NES like Ninja Gaiden 3; since I got the other 2!

Better enough for ya?!

Okay what about those who do like LIT; is it worth it?! I'll be waiting for a more possitive answer when someone can give it to me!

....Or you could just list the games you are considering, and then ask people's opinions on it

Yes i got lost at mowing grass last time, but seriously you just need to research a little, check a few review sites and read the attached user comments for the games you are interested in, then make your own mind up. As they say one mans Treasure is another mans toilet. (or something like that )

I know; sometimes reading some reviews doesn't help though! I went back & glanced at NintendoLife's LIT review, (being a usual 7); but I just don't like reading NintendoLife reviews much! Any conviencing Video Reviews other than IGN's?! Also someimes I just wish they could put out demo's of games on the Wii before purchasing them!

Very well then; I'll do that right now... make it easier to gather opinions from everyone in my thread here!

Opinions about LIT still?!
Should I wisely save for Icarinan Kindered Spirits over Mario Golf 64?!

And why should I ask for opinions about wanting to save for SSB64 & Super Mario Kart; that's a dead obvious there are worthy to save for, LOL!

That's even more simplier to remember now isn't it!

1. I've not heard positive things about Lit.
2. I've played Mario Golf for the GameCube, and found it boring as hell.

i usually watch some walkthrough videos of games that i'm interested in on youtube

walkthrough videos usually don't review the game but simply "show" you the game

mayb that can help u

I second the YouTube comment; a lot of people put up gameplay videos including developers.

I have heard some good things about LiT and I plan on getting it when it comes to Europe which will hopefully be soon! It appears to be more of a puzzle game than a horror game if that helps.

Actually I like your response there; especially since I bolded that last line... so its nice to know its more a puzzle game!

From those who have played it though; how good a puzzle game is it in general... like is the gameplay that fun?! Also does it do a good job of freaking you out at times; & is it dark enough to be considered a good part horror game?!

And will it make me interested in the horror theme in general; because I know I don't like the horor genre at times... being I never played a stinking Resident Evil game but plan on renting one sometime in the near future?!

Captain_Jack_Sparrow

Okay I should at least point out my second biggy question; instead of all of these LIT questions since I think people are just not bothering to answer for me... since I think people are sick of them, LOL!

My second question I seriously want answered is will it be a more wise choice to save 1,000 of my upcomming point I might soon add for Icarian Kindered Spirits... instead of using it for Mario Golf 64?!

Reason why I ask is because I've said it before; Icarian is the only WiiWare game I'm currently excited for... because Cave Story isn't my thing!

And I've got Mario Golf Toadstool Tour for my GameCube, (yet I don't play it anymore); but I always like having every version in a Mario series because I'm a collector & like downloading classic old games!

It has a nice ambiance of horror, but you won't be losing sleep. After a few levels you start to look past the little story there is and see it as a pure puzzle game with just some nice atmosphere to it. The puzzles are genuinely interesting and different, but the problem with games like this is, if you get stuck, there's no real practicing you can do to get better. You're just stuck, and you'll have to either look up what to do (which ruins that level) or not see the rest of the game... the latter of which is what happened to me. I should probably change that some time soon.

EDIT: Re: your double post:
If you or short for cash, definitely save it. It is a good little game, but skippable. You'd do better to spend those points on Cave Story if it comes out soon.

Thanks for the tips about LIT; that basically sums it up a lot better now does it?!

Also I think I've abundatly made my point clear that I don't like Cave Story! I would prefer Icarian if people were more excited about it!
