You should know by now that VC games rarely do anything for anniversaries.

The only special games we got because of a particular date was Halloween.

Sorry, I am going to talk about it to just say this: it could be that their system's gone wrong and set you birthday to a different day. I get extra stars for my birthday on 1st January, even though my birthday is 12th March! The same might've happened to you.

Does Nintendo still observe holidays? I hope we get something spooky on Halloween, like Decap Attack.

You know, it's actually Super Mario Bros' anniversary today, yet we still get nada.

Nintendo's observance of holidays at this point seems sketchy at best. They upped the releases in the Christmas SEASON last year, but not the Monday closest SPECIFICALLY. Compare to the first year or two, when it was VERY clear that there were Christmas releases.

Anyway, we got a VC game last week, so I'm sadly not surprised we didn't get one this week, anniversary or no.

Nintendo could finally release Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island if Nintendo cares about the Mario anniversary and us Nintendo fans.

As it turns out, the current anniversary is Japanese, not American. As such, it would be foolish to expect NoA to celebrate it. Wait until next year, THEN complain.

Well, come Mario's 25th anniversary here, we'd better get something good. A discount would be nice (250 points).

The NA anniversary is also a Monday, October 18. Hopefully we'll get something, but I won't be too surprised if we don't.
I think Nintendo's Christmas present has typically been the release of a very popular game. (Super Mario Bros./Street Fighter II/Super Castlevania IV in 2006, ...DKC3?... in 2007, Phantasy Star IV in 2008, Super Smash Bros./Pilotwings in 2009)

Still would be nice if we got something to commemorate the event, you know?

No VC release this week, which was expected. But the long awaited release of Sonic 4 makes up for it. Finally a WiiWare game I actually want to play.
