Capcom said they planned to release Bionic Commando back when Rearmed was released on the other consoles. But for reasons unexplained, Nintendo wouldn't let them.
My guess why that the VC has slowed down so much is that they want to save alot of games for their next console so it can be profitable on the next console too. I'm guessing the next console will transfer the VC and Wiiware so it works on both systems kinda like the DLC with Rock Band and Rock Band 2. Then when the next console comes out, then they'll do 3-4 games a week again for a while.
Does anybody else agree that its better to have a bad game than no game? We'll still complain but at least another game, even a bad one, is a small step in progress whereas no game at all is just stagnation.
Also, I think you should be able to freely gift your downloaded games on your Wii to the "Wii 2" but in doing so removes the data that you have downloaded the game on your Wii; you would have to purchase it again if you wanted to play it on your Wii.
I'm sick of jokey wiiware games on the wii shop. Virtual Console is 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 Times better.
Me, crying at the crazy fanboyness of it all. retail, wiiware or VC, a good game is a good game no matter the format, there have been plenty of great wiiware titles to fill any gaps with VC releases, saying you wont buy a game because its on another system is more understandable since it cost to buy the machine, but the nonsense comments that wiiware equals trashy shovelware are unjustified, tons of that on VC and retail too, to miss out on the gems of wiiware because of a few bad games is beyond OTT.
^ There probably are, but one can still be rightfully disappointed if one of their favorite services (in this case, Virtual Console) doesn't regularly release games anymore.
I've posted this elsewhere, but you know how many VC games we've gotten this year in the U.S.? 19. That's... alarmingly low.
Granted, I've got plenty of games to play, and I'm playing them. I'm also still EXTREMELY disappointed with the way NOA's handling the VC lately. RIGHT when I come to terms with the crappy biweekly setup, they skip a week again. COME ON, PEOPLE! They rarely release anything I want to begin with, but like BassX0, I'd rather they released SOMETHING than nothing at all.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
I STILL can't understand why people get upset over this.
There is only a finite quality of decent standard games that are going to shift enough to make it turn a decent return. This is why the number of VC releases is diminishing.
6 months of token VC releases of titles I wouldn't buy vs 1 VC game a month with one good one, I'd take the one a month, I just don't get how people would be happy with artificially swamping VC for the sake of it, sure every not so good game has at least a few fans, I'd love Bank Panic for example, even if its unlikely to appear in any video game top list, but I don't see the logic in Nintendo putting their effort into such a thing, when like it or not, wiiware is doing so well, can't see the situation changing anytime soon, unless more developers sign up to VC.
I used to be a huge fan of the VC. I supported it when they were releasing 3 games a week. I defended them when they dropped down to 2 games a week. When they dropped down to 1 a week, I still blindly defended them. I listened to other people's criticism of how Nintendo was handling the VC, but I still stuck up for Nintendo. Finally, it hit me. Why am I still defending Nintendo? It IS pathetic how they are handling the VC. 1 game a month? They might as well just discontinue the service. The last game I bought was Rondo of Blood, and unless they release some magical game, it's gonna stay that way. And this is coming from someone who has spent probably around 200 bucks or more on VC and WiiWare games. Nintendo really is shunning the fans of the VC. So any extra money I have that would have gone towards the VC, is going towards buying retro games. And as soon as I get a PS3 or 360 (still haven't decided what I want), it will be going to their downloadable services.
