That link doesn't really suggest that we're getting "no SSB or SMK." It's more a justification for WiiWare getting the spotlight.
The VC hasn't been abandoned. The VC will not be abandoned any time in the near future.
Releases may slow to a monthly trickle, yes. (Though somehow I think the world will go on spinning.) But the VC is not dead, and that link doesn't claim it's dead.
They didn't say they were ending VC support entirely; all they said was that their focus had shifted. all they said 'NO' to was an Internet Channel and Nintendo Channel update for NA.

I request an Angry Video Game Nerd rant on Nintendo of America ASAP. Because this is full of ********. It's like dumping Toonami for live action shows, it doesn't work!
Congratulation NOA, you are officially the stupidiest video game company in the world (No offense to NOJ, NOE, NOA (Nintendo of Australia.), or NOK (Nintendo of Korea). Now prepare to lose your hardcore audiences.
This is the evidence, that proves absolutely nothing, if you want to get rid of your wii, because scandal of all scandals, 14 days go by with no VC games then by all means go ahead, plenty people out there who would pay good money to buy it and enjoy it.
@SSBFan1999: aww, give the guy a break... first he does the 'plumbers don't wear ties' video, and then he just did the Comic-con thing for Spike TV this weekend. surely he has better things to rant about than this.

I still say people are acting very premature in assuming that the VC will be abandoned. Just wait and see what happens next week. Hold your thoughts till then. If they pull this off again for a 3rd week, then I don't know what to say.
As was suggested in another topic, it's possible they could do a couple VC games for the month instead of a VC game each week.

Of course I do. Two examples are Cartoon Network and the Nintendo hardcore community.
Wait... I'm confused. Are they saying that they are going to stop releasing VC games completely or not? The way the response was worded, it didn't really seem to answer the question. Seriously though, if Nintendo is going to stop they should at least go full force and give us their own remaining titles first, at least Smash Bros and Mario Kart, which have already been released or confirmed for everywhere else. This is the worst day for a Nintendo fan in a while. T_T
Future Wii purchases: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metroid: Other M Zelda Wii New Super Mario Bros. Wii Sin and Punishment 2
Here is another way to say it. They didnt say they would stop with the VC. They did say they make more money from Wiiware. They still mak profit from the VC. But not as much. Meaning less VC more Wiiware. Not NO VC, only Wiiware.
Can anybody point me toward the blood-sanctioned promise that NOA made to keep us well stocked with VC releases every week until the end of time?
Because I'd really love to see it.
amen, brother.
