I'm planning on downloading a few Neo Geo games like Samurai Shodown 2 and was wondering if the difficulty level can be adjusted? Also, is character movement controlled by the d-pad or analog sticks on the Wii Classic Controller Pro?

Yes, it has all that. You can change in option settings button layout and language.

They are not all very good once you put MVS difficulty on. (Metal Slug X particularly starts to lag like Metal Slug 2 did on the real hardware).
The difficult is set out of 5.
The AES defaults to 3
MVS defaults to 4
And there is 5 as well.

What does it mean the MVS difficulty?

MVS is the arcade version of the NeoGeo, the home console is known as AES.
