Topic: Neo Geo Fighting Recommendations?

Ok so I love Neo Geo games, however I haven't played most of them. I got Metal Slug, >< and 3 on the VC along with King of fighters 94, and Samurai Shodown 1 and 2.

Basically what I am asking is, what is the best version of each fighting game? I don't want to buy multiple copies. Such as I hear Samurai Shodown 2 is the best so I will stick to that. What about the rest. Keep hearing good things about the Last Blade as well.

I heard King of Fighters 95 is considered the best from that series. Never played the game though so I wouldn't know. Neo Geo is awesome.

It's been a long time, but I enjoyed Breaker's Revenge and Mark of the Wolves.

The Last Blade and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special are all I can recommend right now, since you got SamSho2. I suppose KOF'96 and SamSho4 are also good ones if you never intend to get any of the collections. I've also heard World Heroes Perfect is good.

Ah, I totally forgot about World Heroes Perfect. I played the hell out of World Heroes 2 Jet, so since Perfect is built from that, it very well could be the definitive version of the World Heroes games. Good call Mickeymac!

The King of Fighters has characters from Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting, should I just stick to the King of Fighters series then? I don't plan to buy any collections. For now though defiantly going to get the Last Blade.

Last Blade -----> Last Blade, and Last Blade 2, both are perfect.
Art of Fighting----> Art of Fighting 3 (not disponible)
King of Fighters----> there are a lot: KOF 97, 98, 99, etc
Samurai Shodown---> i don´t know, i haven´t play this games.
Figher´s History Dynamite---> it is only this game, and i like it a lot.

KOF plays very differently from Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury.

Do you mean a favorite fighter? I usually play as Kaede (speed), the red-headed sword dude (power), or the girl with the Naginata (either one seems to work for her).

There are more games I've played, but these are most of the ones I enjoyed. There are still quite a few non-Fighting games I have yet to play, though, and I've still yet to touch the World Heroes series. In fact, not to brag, but I think those might be the only fighters on the system that I never played...

I'm also a big fan of Shock Troopers and Ninja Commando. I always wanted to play Sengoku 3 as well, but never around to it.

I recently tried out Matrimelee and Rage of the Dragons... I hope both come out on the VC... Matrimelee... dat music...

How does Blue Mary play on both?

Her moves are a little harder to pull off on Real Bout 2.

Do you recommend me Top Hunter?, it looks like a basic but harder Metal Slug and i don´t know if the control helps to the game.

I liked it, it's a fun little game in co-op. You can do neat Fatal Fury moves if I recall.
