He was doing pretty good at Mega Man 4, wasn't he? I stuck around till my internetz got wonky. Did he end up finishing it?

I think he did. I don't know, I left after the Gumball Machine, but he died 3 times by the time I left.

It was indeed discouraging, but mainly I didn't want everybody to have to watch me replay the same short section a few dozen more times. I WILL conquer this game (once through at least!) but I'll need a lot of practice. I'll host another stream when I do, and do a complete playthrough.

Do VCA games like Ghosts'n Goblins have the suspend feature or is it like N64 games?

Last night was fun. Chicken Brutus is a cool guy

I kept track of the stats

  • Ghosts 'n Goblins (VCA), Death Count: 39 / Continues: 5 / Stage: 2-Checkpoint
  • Mega Man 4 (NES), Death Count: 4 / Game completed
  • ignoring my request of showing off some lilt line (WW) instead showing off Niki - Rock & Ball (WW), 3 stages from world 2 ..... and Superman 64 talk
  • somebody requested Fireplacing (WW), fortunately Brutus deleted this abomination from his SD Card and couldn't bother redownloading it
  • then he showed off a fourth game I believe... or maybe not. I can't remember, it was too late and we started using bad words.
  • last but not least 8 accounts got banned, courtesy of click click click theblackdragon.

The only VCA game that I have is Space Harrier. In Space Harrier you can suspend your progress and continue later. I suspect that applies to other arcade games as well.

Every VCA game I've gotten so far (Ninja Gaiden, Rygar, Zaxxon, Shinobi, Commando, Ghosts 'N Goblins), does have suspend state.

Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D
