Yeah - I agree there - SNES Turtles in Time would be good with the mode seven stage and all... Why we only have the shoddy NES game I dont know!

That's putting it mildly. It's ended being the biggest disappointment on VC hands down. Only a handful of games and most of them are average at best. I don't know why Nintendo even bothered adding it.

i know i'd rather have something than nothing at all, and i've gotten a lot of play out of the few VC games i've downloaded, vio.

Well I think a lot of us actually were expecting the likes of Turtles arcade, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Final Fight, Outrun etc. We've had Golden Axe but that's about as recent as we've got - the rest are games we could have seen perfect versions of on the consoles already on the VC, kind of defeating the point of it for me.

Well, Space Harrier is quite a bit improved over the Master System version.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Golden Axe is pretty close to the arcade version. Not much point in downloading the arcade version if you already have the Genesis/Mega Drive one.

Regards VC arcade - I wonder why SEGA stopped at Space Harrier, why not After Burner 2, Super Hang On, Outrun, Golden Axe 2 - even the arcade version of Wonder Boy in Monster Land would be cool...

Yeah, the VC arcade sucks. They could add so many more.

1. Classics like Pac Man, Asteroids, etc.
2. 90s classics like Street Fighter II, AfterBurner, etc.

My (possibly incorrect) understanding was that VC Arcade did much better in Japan than other regions... but I agree that it's been a pretty big disappointment. I would've much rather seen Atari games added... at least, assuming that Activision would bother to release any of their old classics.

Namco's the biggest reason the Japanese VCA is doing well. They've only bothered to give the other territories 3 games, and that was at the launch of the service. Show us some love Namco!

2 games that need come to the VC are Looney Tunes Basketball and Batman Returns (SNES version). I'm not sure if they're licensed or not?

Looney Tunes is also owned by WB, Batman by DC Comics.

@StarFox: we know, but WB/DC had to have licensed the likenesses of their characters and stuff to Sunsoft and Konami, thus 'licensed games'. :3

I'm still waiting for Raiden, dammit.

Raiden is a licensed title? That's news to me.
Anyway, yeah, it would be nice if some more licensed titles came to the VC. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time is a great beat'em up, and it would be great if it came to the VC. But it doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime soon.

Ha, no, it just looked like the topic got a bit sidetracked into a general VCA discussion.
And I want to see Raiden on the VCA instead of bad arcade versions of good console ports (i.e. Ninja Gaiden, Tecmo Bowl).
