People still go on about "no new VC games" and "VC is on it's [sic] last legs."
So, lets see if there's some legitimacy behind that - lets figure out if we really are being held back from getting "new" VC games, and lets see if we can't figure out when the VC servers get taken down for good.
So the first one.
Let's assume that Nintendo would like to keep VC running, with a least a smattering of new releases, as long as the Wii is around, and lets guess, hypothetically, that the Wii 2 is launched 2012. So, 13 more months.
Now, what games are left to be released on the VC? Note: Not including games that won't get released because the developer/ publisher/ IP owner is now gone/ moved to another console. We won't ever see Goldeneye on the VC, for instance, and there's a host of game properties that are still current now, so the publishers are unlikely to allow the old ones to be rereleased (most sports games franchises, for instance - Fifa Soccer as an example)
Second part: VC is on its final legs.
There's a couple hundred VC games to buy, and I would guess the cost of keeping the shop open is insignificant to the money coming in. Doesn't sound like its on its final legs to me?
lol, you don't think anyone else has tried to talk sense about the VC over the years? people are gonna moan and complain no matter what, whether we get a lot of games or only a few here and there. it's just the way things are. :3
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

One I thing I wish NOA and NOE would do is announce in advance what VC games are coming the following month like NOJ. At this point it's a complete guessing game on when VC games are going to be released (well, in NOA at least. Yeah yeah I know we were on a VC game every other week pattern but NOA broke the pattern this week.) so I think that doing what I just mentioned might help with the complaining a wee bit.
This is never going to to away. As long as there are people out who arent getting the games they want on the VC they are still going to complain its that simple. This thread is going to go nowhere and it just going to be an arugment over the VC game release rate do we really need another one of these threads?
When there's no big seller on retail or on WiiWare then you'll get a new VC game, simple as that! The business wants to make money on the new games. The old games can still make money... later and always.
Retail has priority, WiiWare comes in second and VC is last. There's a long way ahead for us and the VC when Nintendo releases "B-titles" like Mario Party 2 for Christmas.
On a side note, big VC games like Yoshi's Island and Earthbound might be saved for the Wii 2.

I wouldn't classify VC games as new.

I ended up being quiet about the thing, not only because I am rather conformist and the logic is getting to me, but I also see too much repetition in statements.
All we can do now is buy more, especially that translated title, and hope for the best. Like HardcoreGaming101 says, translation is not really a feasible option... (http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/localization/localization.htm)
Only thing worse than someone complaining about the VC being dead is someone complaining about the complainers. You really are showing yourself to be no better than the people you are complaining about. If you are still enjoying your 1 new VC game a month, then great. Don't worry about how other people feel.
No, if they were consistently inconsistent, there'd be no rhyme or reason. Since launch, the volume of releases has slowed down gradually from a bunch a week to one every other week or so. There's also been a yearly cycle of relative lulls during the summer with extra and higher profile releases around the Christmas season. We'll have to see if this pattern holds up this year. There's been change but not inconsistency if you're discussing quantity of releases. (Of course, there's no real way to predict what releases actually will be month-to-month, but that's not really the question at hand).

Yeah, but the whining reaches a point where the same people say the same things over and over again and it becomes more and more irritating every week
