(I know the topic corrected it itself)
Of course Kojima would hate Metal Gear SOLID on the NES, because that doesn't exist unless some Chinese pirate made it.
If Kojima is worried about his reputation being soiled, he probably shouldn't have revealed it was too difficult for him to infiltrate the secret base. That dude is not a gamer--but I already knew that, ever since I played Metal Gear Solid: the Movie. I think it's funny that it bothers him that the players don't go head to head with Metal Gear at the end of the NES version. I thought it made a world of sense to destroy Metal Gear before it was operational (that was your mission after all). And since the original Metal Gear fight wasn't fun anyway, cutting it was a win-win.
He could have still released the MSX version on the VC for NA. But he didn't do that either.

Why would developers not want to earn money with their old titles?
They don't need to worry about expiration. From what I've heard, the copyright protection lasts for the life of the author plus an additional 70 years. I think even Pac-Man is still under copyright.
The only reason not to release games for the Wii Virtual Console anymore, would be because people moved on to the WiiU. But since Wii VC games run on the WiiU, I guess it's more or less the same system. So, when games are released for the WiiU they can also be released for the Wii.
Unfortunately we only see some NeoGeo Fighting Games recently. But I think this is because Nintendo is currently working on promoting the 3DS and WiiU. After the situation has calmed down, I'm pretty sure we see more Virtual Console titles on the Wii (and WiiU) in the future.
Agreed. I do think once the U gets an official VC (with the older games playable on the U without Wii mode), that it should pick up again. But I doubt that will stop companies like Konami from ignoring the easy money.

Well, I still like the NES version. It's fun because it's challenging and I prefer that. That being said, Snake's revenge on the NES I would never go near.

It's your opinion if you liked it, I just don't expect to ever be re-released since the MGS man himself hates it.

I love it too. My favorite part is how you start off with just a pack of cigarettes. Much cooler than a lot of games now I hate games that have the full motion video in them (like the later metal gear games). The first one that I remember vividly was when I was in high school, Final Fantasy 7. Those people should just stick to making movies
There are reports now from nintendo , that they are working on wii U virtual console with games playable on the gamepad to be included dont no when we will get it though....but its coming.

I know. If we got the MSX version that would be good as well, but I just wanna replay the first MG somehow

Wii Virtual Console Updates Come to a Close in Japan
The deletion of the upcoming VC game page could signal the end of the service in Japan.
The upcoming Virtual Console games page for the Wii in Japan has been deleted from Nintendo's official website in Japan.
While no official statement has been issued from NCL, this appears to mark the beginning of the end of the Wii’s downloadable services in Japan. Launching in late 2006, the Virtual Console provided gamers with an avenue to play a plethora of classic gaming titles all on one home console. In Japan, around 650 titles were released for the service, and most remain available for purchase and download.
There is currently no information regarding the status of the Wii Virtual Console service in the West or any potential transition to the Wii U. Games are actively being added to the 3DS Virtual Console library.
In germany the lists of upcoming VC and WiiWare games also doesn't exist anymore. I think since the redesign of the website a few months ago. But we still get new games. For example "Vampire Crystals" or "Ninja Master's: Haō Ninpō Chō".
