Being that the Wii U came out a few days ago, does anyone know if Nintendo will still be releasing retro games on the Wii VC, or are they going to stop and only release them on the Wii U?

Didn't Nintendo update/release anything on the Wii Shop or DSi Shop or 3DS eShop in North America this week, like every Thursday?

If so, then Nintendo is really lazy. Unless if we're seeing games outside of what VC usually delivers in terms of platforms, there's no reason for us to not keep getting games on our Wii's. It just wouldn't make much sense, in my opinion.

I doubt it. Wii U uses the wii shop anyway, plus there is some more SNK spam we have to go through first before we get to more of their good games

SNK spam? That's a bit harsh. Most of SNK's games are good and we should be glad they're at least still supporting VC, since no one else is anymore.

probably not, not sure if they are catering to wii audiences at this point there could be 2 editions of vc games or just one using the missing DKC trilogy or one of my other personal favourites A link to the past with the ability to play on the gamepad

i just hope its the same ol price for vc games as it is on the wii

Yep. Its only "spam" because nobody else is bothering. The other publishers are free to support the Virtual Console too alongside D4 Enterprise yet they choose not to.

Ninja Master's was crappy though. I don't think there are that many early fighting games left for them to release. I enjoy the fighting games but some variety would be welcome.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I hope not at least not until SNK release Sengoku 3 and perhaps Art of Fighting 3 on VC

Guys if a particular game is already available on Japanese VC (Real Bout Fatal Fury 1) what are the chances it can be release in North American and European VC?

If you're talking about Real Bout 1 specifically, I'd say very good. Its just a matter of time.

Other companies though, I don't know. There have been many games released in Japan on the VC years ago that nobody else got despite us having the game released in our countries originally.

Sengoku 3 looks good, but I'm holding out for Shock Troopers 2 and Pulstar or Blazing Star.

Wasn't that impressed with Art of Fighting 3.

It's more because for many of their games, there's a "best" version out there. Look at Metal Slug X or the best version of any fighting game. They have to release every version, though. That's why it's spam.

I'm willing to bet they'll continue Wii VC support for awhile. The 3DS has been out for awhile and yet we continue to receive DSi games. The Wii Shop Channel is accessible on both the Wii and Wii U so it doesn't hurt them to support both.

Maybe it is the end?
It's that time of the month when the Japanese VC page should be updated, but it isn't.

I kept thinking that since Nintendo flooded the eShop with games when the original Wii first released, i'd suspect that it would do the same for Wii U. :/

Games To Finish: Arkham City, Nintendo Land, Wario Land: Shake It!, Red Steel 2, Okami, Xenoblade Chronicles, Sticker Star, Dragon Quest IX, Okamiden, Spirit Tracks, Superstar Saga, Kid Icarus 1 & 2, Blaster Master: Enemy Below, Bionic Commando GB, Rayman GBC, Banjo Tooie, Castlevania: SotN.

They won´t end because the only way to play this games in the Wii U is from the Wii Channel and then enter to the Wii shop channel. They aren´t available from Wiii U eshop.
