I'm playing Mario, and then the day after it puts me back to world 1.
How do I save? Can you even save?

Just exit out with the home button and it will pause the game where you are at.

If you are talking about Super Mario Bros. 1-3 or Lost Levels, you cannot save in those games. Though you can do a save state by clicking the home button and then go back to the Wii menu. When you go back to the game, you will start at the exact point you left it at.

Saving in VC games varies depending on the game, so I usually find it too inconsistent and unreliable. Restore Points are my go to save feature for those games.

I thought so. Thanks everyone. It was Super Mario Bros. 3.
I'm glad to know that certain games can't be saved.
Thanks for your help everyone! ;)

Those game never used restore saves when originally released, play like men and go throught to the finish with your own ability.

Umm...what? We do use out own ability to finish our games. What we were discussing was that save states make for a convenient way to save the game when you are finished playing. When did we ever say that we relied on save states because the game is too hard? Read the thread next time.

Hehehe. We are still men because we are still technically going to the finish. We just use an extended pause every now and then.

Agree with this. Here's a copy of my man card to prove it.

You did? Then you must've either pumped a ton of quarters into a PlayChoice-10 or you bought the game from Japan.
(or that wasn't meant to be taken literally :D )

I was making funny, but it is a good challenge to play from start to finish the games that originally didn´t have password or battery backup. :)
