Castlevania IV is probably my choice. It's a hell of a lot more accessible than Super Metroid and doesn't suffer from the god-awful visuals of the Donkey Kong Country series. DoReMi is a good choice too - quirky, very pretty and great fun.
Planning to get 3000 points this week. Want to spend them on SNES games. Since I don't have much time for RPG's, I thought platformers could be a good deal. I need fast-to-play games.

(Will skip SMW, I own the GBA game) any other suggestion, welcome

Super Metroid is the one that stands out, but it is does take a long time to play through and complete. It is one of the best games of all time though.
Castlevania IV is the only Castlevania game I ever played. That's a great game too. I didn't complete that though.
DK 1 and 2 are fantastic too, though DK2 can be frustrating imho. I was one of the minority that preferred the 1st one to the second. I never played the third installment, DK3. Overall, however, I prefer the more modern DK games as they are more of a laugh and are more visually appealing. I'll be in the minority there though I suspect.
I don't remember much about Do-re-Mi tbh, I know its very highly regarded however.
Why must you get snes games? There's a great selection, but theres so much else to get! Go for super metroid, definitely an awesome game. buy super C, unless you have contra 4, in which case get contra rebirth. @ chicken brutus: I agree 100% that metroid hasn't aged well, but i think super metroid is a very fun game even by today's standards. I can't think of anything wrong with it.

Get Castlevania 4 man. It's my favorite game ever. Seriously. Great gothic atmosphere and despite being an early SNES release, features some of the best music ever heard in an SNES game. I just love it, love it, love it from beginning to end. Super Metroid is a classic, but has actually been outdone by the Prime games IMO. And believe me, it's rare for me to prefer a 3D update of a franchise. But really, I don't think you can wrong with any of the games you listed there. They're all solid.
You have Super Mario Allstars? That one's worth it for the updated SMB 1-3 on the SNES! 4 games in one! I say skip DKC 1 and 2! It's the same deal with SMW, I recommend the GBA versions of them!
dont get me wrong, i love doremi, but you guys are hyping it up a bit too much. It is def not the best platformer of all time. For one, Super Mario World is a much better game.
