Ocarina is more traditional than Majora's Mask and thus has wider appeal, it is also a slightly better.

If you're a big fan of the time element, Majora's Mask might be better for you, if you're impartial or dislike it don't get Majora's Mask.

Although TC, people could give better suggestions if you included what types of games you like, as well as types of gameplay you like.

@Edwin: Either ways, you seem to know what I was implying.

The biggest difference between those games is that OoT relies on the main story and MM relies on the many sidequests. The time-limit isn't such a big deal in MM, you just need to find out if you like sidequests or not.

If you can't make your mind up about that, buy OoT. MM is a sequel of OoT so you'll probably enjoy MM more if you played OoT before. Both games are great so you can't make a bad choice on this one.

Save for Zelda Majora's Mask as long as you can... I may be wrong if its not going to be released on May 18th as our #300 game?! Only 11 more days to wait until then! ;)

You have all expressed the idea that one should play Ocarina of Time before Majora's Mask. Please read post 15 and then give me one good reason why. Thank you.

Because it's the sequel. Plain and simple start with the first one OOT. I think that ocarina is funnier for a firsttimer. Start with the easy story driven game and then go into the harder darker mission based version...

Ocarina for sure. You don't want to play the sequel before the original. That just doesn't make sense, at least for me.

First of all... Thanks everybody for your helpfull comments.
I've also read different reviews from different sites and my choose goes to:

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I've choose this because this is the first 3D Zelda and this is the first part of Zelda.
Some sites say that OoT a slighty more better is than MM.

This is my first day playing and I'm loving it :)

And I think I buy one extra 1000 points for Majora's Mask ;)
Again... Thanks!

Go ahead... make my day!

Both are great games. Get Ocarina of Time first. Then get Majora's Mask.

Ocarina of Time, then Majora's Mask. That's the only way.

I must have fully beaten Ocarina ten times now (including the H-core one), but Majora's only twice (once on the GC which sucked). I'm busy tidying up the side quests at the moment (which is soo much fun) before I head to the tree with all the freaks prancing around it ;) there i shall become a Great Deity and smite that cursed mask.

The only thing that made it suck on the GC was the random freezing.

Yeah, and the crappy frame rate and the dodgy audio. They rushed it in a horrible way, which is why I am sooooo enjoying it on Wii right now, glad they made the effort for such a classic. But anyway, I wanna play now, think I'm gonna go for the frogs (which is 3-day bitch), woot!

Using "Majora's Mask is the sequel, play OoT first" is a terrible point seeing as how the only story relation is the beginning cinema of Majora

Oh yeah. Plus the skipping audio and terrible frame rate are the ones I forgot to mention.

OOT should be played before Majora's for the simple reason that Ocarina is the classic, the video game lauded as the best of all time, the huge hit. Majora's Mask is the followup, which though some may think it's even better, does not have the same following and impact.
