I like the cheapness and all-in-one nature of collections, but the quickness (flash memory) and lack of disk on the VC is nice.
The best solution would either be collections released on WiiWare, or Nintendo adding a system for publishers to package their games into sets that are significantly cheaper than the games individually.

Well, the fellow who owns the Intellivision IP tried and failed to get Intellivision Lives! ported to WiiWare, so cleary classic compilations via download just isn't going to happen. That means individual VC downloads or compilation discs are here to stay!

Re-buying these games or ignoring the collections is a huge waste of money, unless you only want one certain game in the series. Even if you already own one of the games on a collection disk however, it's still a temptation to buy it again to have it appear on the Wii Menu (particularly if you're lazy to switch disks).

It depends. Usually I prefer collections but sometimes the collections are quite poor ports. With the VC, you get the actual original game.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
