I cannot play a console port of this. Namco needs to release a properly emulated version (Eclipse dropped the ball on the Namco Museum 50th Anniversary collection version; it's pants); I'm guessing we'll see it next year on VCA in time for the 30th anniversary **feels old**.

Talking about emulation, is the Namco Museum (PS1) version any better? I have it myself, but without really playing the arcade version for significant amount of time, I wouldn't know...
@SeanAaron: Have you played the XBLA version? I think it's pretty faithful to the arcade version.
Of course, being "old" myself, i know that feeling where an emulated or ported arcade title is either horrible, or (and this is sometimes worse) just "a little" off (either a sound cue is wrong, or an enemy's behavior is a little off or fractionally slower, etc). Games like Pac-Man in particular (which i was nuts about back in the day), i can usually detect even the slightest "alteration" from the standard romchip versions.
The PS1 Namco Museum version is great. The GC Namco Museum version is not: it's a bit slowed down which really irritates me; especially when I hear the music.
Waiting for VCA or Namco Museum Remix 2, please Namco!

LOL, try any PAL NES game, the slow down in music will drive you insane! lol
I have plug and play galaga and I stink at it. my high score on it is roughly 47,000.
Not too far away from me then... thing is I actually try and get points by getting the double ship and getting perfects on the Bonus round, it's dang hard! No matter how many times I play retro arcade game I feel like I'll never master them!

I have Balloon Fight; haven't noticed anything; I'm also unaware of issues with watching PAL films, though if there was a conversion issue it would be sped-up surely?

Me too, I stink. The only version I have is Galaga 90 and my high score is 244480. I'm gonna have another stab at it now... edit: nope I still stink.
