@ejamer Same here. It's either one of those two for the number 1 spot.. Third favorite would definitely be Super Street Fighter II.

Why always NES and SNES? You have so many jewels for the TG16 and getting a TG16 or PC Engine these days is really hard. The Star Soldier and Bonk sagas are a must. New Adventure Island is by far the most exciting of all the series. Ordyne is a great substitute for it Arcade counterpart which is unavailable in the US but not in Japan, if you liked NES Kung Fu, you'll love Vigilante on the TG-16. You must at least have a TG-16 Bomberman to know what it really should be like. Other excelent games of this platform are Shockman, China Warrior and Splatterhouse. Devil's Crush and Alien Crash will ruin Alien Crash Returns if you haven't bought it.
For the Genesis, all the Treasure games are incredible (Alien Soldier, Dynamite Heddy, Gunstar Heroes), also, Boogerman, Kid Chameleon, Ristar and Pulseman are awesome. MUSHA and Mega Turrican are a must.
Not everything in life is NES and SNES, but if NES is what your looking for, I recommend the M.I.A. U-four-ia (thanks WB and Sunsoft of America), play it and you'll know why Hebereke (of Bop Louie) is Sunsoft's real mascot (not Aero).

I completely agree with the two previous comments. Turbografx-16 is a gem in the Virtual Console. And I've never even heard of the console when I grew up. At 600 Wii Points, you get 16-bit quality games cheaper than SNES or Mega Drive, all at 60 Hz I believe and many of them even trump the other 16-bits machines graphic wise . And some have 5 player multiplayer modes. Like Bomberman '94, which for that very reason (along with good level design and graphics) is my favourite VC game as of now. I grew up playing NES Bomberman like many of you, but trust me this is the next level of Bomber fun.

I wouldn't have bought so much TG16 if so much of the rest of the VC was not 50hz for PAL regions.
It sucks though that so much of the TG16 stuff has that awful filter on it. (Rondo of Blood and Bomberman '94 don't and they really do look great.)
I learnt about Triforce and forcing NTSC after getting scammed for Ironclad when it stated it was 60hz but it wasn't. (Made M.U.S.H.A much better as well). Swapping cables is annoying though.
Now I have an NTSCU wii as well I might rebuy some trying to think of which though. (Already bought Metal Slug X again but it lag's on MVS difficulty which I am not really happy with).
I really want to buy Spriggan / Spriggan MK2 but I don't think enough to get yet another Wii.

Have to be Rondo of Blood not many games recently I have 100%'ed more than once as I have so many but I have done it three times. (And I really dislike still Super Castlevania IV which put me off the series completely 20 years ago)

I keep going back to Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64. I find The Revenge of Shinobi strangely addictive as well, and Kirby's Dream Land 3 is truly captivating.

When will you realise that Super Punch-Out!! is inferior to the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!?
Instead of plunking down familiar nostalgic classics that i enjoyed again on the VC, i'm going to throw down 'new' retro titles that i experienced >
Super Castlevania IV, Castlevania III, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood(I'm actually rooting for Rondo over SCIV these days, IV just didn't really put up a good challenge) and revisiting Mega man & getting my revenge on Double Dragon. Yup, the VC introduced me to the castlevania series, a series that i never gave a chance growing up.....Which baffles me, because i've always been a big fan of horror/monster movies.

For me it's Dracula X / Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Great to finally play that one since it was originally just released in Japan for PC Engine.
