Do you think it will happen? Just think of the awesome classics that could launch with it: Super Mario Land, Kirby's Dream Land, Metroid II, Zelda Link's Awakening...
This would be awesome. Right now there aren't many reasons to own a DSi, except for Dr Mario, and the ArtStyle games, which the US needs to get more of. The DSi VC would be amazing, hopefully it will come to be during my lifetime.

I think they will but there's no guarantee though. But you never know because last year people thought that there were going to be remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver and those turned out to be true exactly one year later. So I'm guessing the same thing will happen with the DSi VC. I really think that there should be because there's so much crap on both the DS and Wii (Shovelware, I'm looking straight at you) and let's not mention the mediocre DSiWare that's even worse than most of the WiiWare games on the Wii Shop Channel. Let's also not forget Nintendo's E3 conference from last year was pretty lame and they'll probably make up for it this year.
@Adam I just see a crazed nerd running on stage during Nintendo's confrence and grabbing the mic from Cammie and screaming "The DSi VC is COMING!" over and over until security (or Reggie) pulls a linebacker move on him.
