You'd probably have to explain the word "rewind" to them.

That reminds me of a post a see float around Facebook where is shows a pencil and a cassette tape and it says Like if you know what the connection is between these two.

Do you say America or Europe regions? I will check later in my Wii (i´m from Mexico).

Some weeks ago i thought this situation could come so i download the entire 9 games library and later i did a post where Boulder Dash was quit of the service so i spend my last points to download the remaining games (i downloaded Boulder Dash at time).

A very important question:
If you do Wii U transfer can you lost the C64 games or are they keep in the download data? (same question for Irem games or DKC trilogy and another lost games).

Hotel Dusk on DS had you do just that to get a cassette to work.

I had an Atari 2600 and 5200. It was my first consoles, then the NES and the history continues. I´m also very impressed about games in tapes and then rewind!!! With movies no problem, i had a Betamax and VHS but to rewind games it is impressive also for me.

Is the C64 library really gone? Can anybody from Europe confirm this?

I really hoped they would announce this, after all they regularly announced the removals of other VC and WiiWare games for some time as well.
I'm a bit upset, I really wanted some of those nostalgic C64 games.
I even tried to get them through the Nintendo Channel loophole (I grabbed Shootanto at the last moment that way), but .... the Nintendo Channel is no more!!!
Any chance I can make Nintendo send those lost memories out to me?

At least I have the 6, err 5, best C64 games that were available on the service (imo): The Last Ninja Trilogy... it became just the first two (got Ninja 3 refunded because the VC version never worked past the first level, horrible I know ;( )
Downloaded the two groundbreaking Braybrook classics Paradroid and Uridium as soon as they hit the shop. And of course one of my earliest addictions: Boulder Dash.

But man, I really miss International Karate, IK+, Impossible Mission 1&2, and a bit of Jumpman, and Pitstop 2 as well. I'd even get Cybernoid just for the music.

I hope C64 games get another chance on Wii U.
But two changes must be made for it to be successful.

1. A team that is capable of faithfully emulating these games. We don't want the same team that was responsible for the Wii versions. Almost any of them had issues, glitches of some kind, missing content, wrong color, crashing, graphic and/or music errors.

2. A team that can release a more representative collection of C64 games. A team that gives us Giana Sisters, Maniac Mansion, Turrican, Wizball, Katakis, Creatures, Pirates, Archon, Zak McKracken, Project Firestart, Kikstart II, Bruce Lee, M.U.L.E., Bubble Bobble, X-Out, R-Type, Armalyte, Spy vs Spy, I mean, REAL C64 games!

Yeah, when the C64 was announced I thought we would see many C64 games. I went through lists of gam,es (on vgmuseum.com) to see which ones would make good additions to the library. But only the bare minimum was released.

What a disappointment.

A little disappointing, but not a huge loss. The games I wanted never made it to NA anyways.

Sorry for waking up this old thread, but it was great to see about five years ago when Commodore 64 came to Wii VC, but it was sad that they only put 9 games out. I would have expected at least a few hundred of the great, great classics would arrived to system. No idea though about the licenses and rights. Since it's 30 years ago when many of those games were released.

I would've really wanted Wii VC to get Commodore Amiga games also, but those never arrived... Same with Sega Saturn, though Saturn is easy to explain with the horrible small 512mb flash memory that Wii has, it would have been impossible to even launch one game, it would not have been possible to do that even from a SD card. Really makes me wonder why they didn't put for example 4GB flash memory inside the Wii. 512mb can't store even all my Wii Shop purchases and I had like only 12.

Amiga games have such amazing musics. Really legendary soundtracks like Chris Huelsbeck's Turrican and The Giana Sisters soundtracks.
