So I recently bought the virtual console version of Zelda OoT and started playing. Is playing the original version kind of silly because they do have a remake of it. I picked the original for price, the fact it is on a TV, Classic controller Pro, and nostalgia (feel like an N64 game). Are any of you guys playing the VC, GC, or any original version of the game right now. Just wondering because it is still in the top 5 downloaded VC games here in the United States right now. The classic portable remake verses original argument stuns me again.
I was playing it on the GC collectors disc, but I havent played it in a few weeks now. I also have it on the Original N64 cartridge and the VC as well.

Yeah I'm currently in the Shadow Temple in the VC version. I like blocky graphics and pre-rendered backgrounds (and original musics too) > nice looking 3D stuff
I own it on the Collector's Edition disc, the Master Quest disc, and 2 different N64 cartridges(one gold, one grey), which is why I ignored the VC version. Ever since OoT 3D was announced, I've tried to stay away from the game because I wanted to play the remake. However, I don't have a 3DS yet, so I can't play it. But I'm still not going to play the original version until I play the remake.
The ten euros/dollars price tag makes it an interesting debate. I haven't got a 3DS yet (getting one with the price cut, though) but I still have the GameCube version with Master Quest. I still want to have the 3D edition, though. The age of the game is really starting to show and after playing the game in a shop, I can honestly say it still is worth buying the new version for me.
lol I literally own every copy of the game (well except non Collectors edition N64) Still love to play it on VC from time and time again. (100%ed it at the beginning of the year) Though not having the Rumble did through me off a little... wonder why they didn't have it so people with Gamecube controllers could still use it.
I actually never played or owned it. I was never into the zelda series except recently I got into it. So the 3ds will be my first OOT game.(I played other zelda games before this if you got confused lol)
Ocarina of Time was the first thing I downloaded on the VC, and I had never played it before.
Years later, I still haven't beaten it yet. It was fun while I played though. I think I'm in the fire temple right now. Don't really have any plans to get the 3DS version...
I'm working on a game that's coming out soon! Cipher Trailer
I don't play a lot of N64 games so i am really surprised on how much they use 2D backgrounds in 3D worlds, it looks funny. I just started but it seems like a lot of fun so far. I can see why they would remake the game. For me personally I am a nostalgia freak sometimes so it doesn't bother me. I guess it doesn't matter which version you get that much, since it is the same game. It is like Super Mario 64 or the DS version, they are the same thing.
I'm playing the OoT/MQ version on GC. I'm all the way to the shadow temple, and just got Epona. I might do some sidequesty stuff, as I'm having some trouble with Bongo Bongo.

I'm playing through it for the first time. Finally on the fire temple as adult Link, and I'm kinda enjoying it. I'm not really into the Zelda series, but it's still a good game.
Why do astronauts backtrack? They forgot the Space Jump Boots.
