everyone, how do you think the wii shop channel compares with the xbox live arcade? I'd like to know information about the xbox live arcade because i don't really own an xbox 360 at the moment.

To be honest I think it's better. You can get Sonic and Goldenaxe and such on the 360 Arcade but you have to play them with the 360 controller, whereby they feel much more natural on the Wii. Plus the VC has SNES, N64 etc.

The Live Arcade does have exclusive games under it's belt though. I downloaded one called Marble Madness which was pretty sweet (like Super Monkey Ball) which boasted a full online mode aswell as a good 100 single player levels.

I think once WiiWare is under way the Wii Shop channel will be much stronger but to be honest I'm not that prolific in what's available for Live Arcade anymore.

Apparently there was online version of the original Doom released which is cool to say the least.

this one, probably wii shop, if a game is too hard to find it's on the wii shop, in it's original form, in orcarina on VC it still says z- target though it's really like L on the classic controller

xbox live arcade sucks pretty bad tbh, bomber man live is the only worthwhile game to play, worms also, but apart from that i'd much rather play some ninty classics

I think it all comes down to: which one is cheapest?
I only have one game on the VC because its so damn expensive.

In terms of design and interface, I much prefer the Xbox Live Marketplace interface in general because it's slick, it's usually fast, and it's designed much better IMO.

As for the quality and pricing, the previous Nintendo titles are great although I think the prices are too high for what they are now compared to retail games. I can't say much on this until some of the XNA Community Games are released (yeah, you'll still have to pay $100 but it may be worth it) and WiiWare is launched.
