1. The Hobbit

Not ashamed to say I still load up 9 from tape! and play The Boggit by Fergus McNeill ( of Delta 4 fame ) on my ZX Spectrum. Not a console, but a great laugh to play....okay, maybe I'm slightly ashamed of this.....

I think I might be a little young, I have no idea what all that means. I think I knew someone with a Spectrum but never myself, I did have a BBC...

I liked the BBC!

The 8bit era saw some great game developers considering the hardware available. There are great developers today of course, but most of 8bit guys wrote software that sold millions of copies from their bedrooms!

Andrew Braybrook
Fergus McNeill ( who was only 16 at the time )
Steve Turner
Matthew Smith - A real genius who made game writing a science. Jet Set Willy as a good example of a game engine used to good effect, and has given us the game engine principles still used today.

Real heroes of mine and the reason I went into software engineering.........

By gum, those were the days. Crap graphics, beeps for sound effects and pie and soggy chips for supper.....now I think about it, I prefer the gamecube.....;-)
