1. charity

Has you ever done anything to help a charity or held your own fundraising event? I haven’t, but I’m thinking of holding a fundraising event so that I can give money to a well known charity. Anyone have any ideas of what I could do?

I’ve never really thought about fundraising until I went onto www.gnation.co.uk to enter a competition. I was bored so I read through most of the site, fundraising is actually quite interesting now, in my opinion anyways.

aye always have a prize. It doesn't need to be as extravagent as a bike but something nice. Not many people stop if you ask them to help a charity, but if they see a nice prize, lets a say a bike then, people will stop because they want it.
Also, individuals are not the only people who buy raffle tickets, businesses will buy them and in bulk. Never forget the independent outlets who have more power to decide on the spot.
Make sure there is interest before you arrange everything too, if your prize is an expensive one or you will end up paying out of your pocket and the charity gets nothing. Donated prize are always the best way to go. Again business interest in the form of sponsership.

You may already know all this but I thought I'd share with you my experiences.
