I just love so many classic Gamecube games I thought I'd make a topic about it!
1. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. This is just such an utterly fantastic game. I started out renting it and just couldn't get enough. After I got my own copy I played this game non-stop until there was literally nothing left to do. Not only my favorite Gamecube game but one of my favorite games of all time! 2. Pikmin 2: This one is very close to topping Paper Mario as number one. The level of detail and polish on this game is truly unbelievable and it improves on its already excellent predecessor in almost every single way. It's just such a clever, fantastically thought out game that everyone should make a point to play (even though you'll certainly be paying for it...) 3. Super Smash Bros. Melee: Its literally disgusting thinking about how many hours my friends and I poured into this game back in the day. Obviously it doesn't seem like a very big deal today with Brawl being out but back in the Gamecube era, this was a fine game and had some of the best multi-player around. Even with Brawl's existence I still pick this one up every once in a while for old times sake. 4. Super Mario Sunshine: Not exactly a regular top for people's best Mario games of all time lists but still a very stellar game. I had an absolute blast with this game when it first came out. Was it a little weird compared to other Mario's? Yes. Did it totally break the formula in several spots? Yes. Was it still a fantastically made game that was great fun despite its flaws? Yes, yes, yes! 5. Luigi's Mansion: Another title that didn't exactly have people raving. This was the very first game I had on the Cube and I totally loved it when I played it. While it was a little repetitive and certainly not the longest game around, it was still great fun exploring the mansion sucking up all the ghosts. A great game in my opinion. I truly hope to see a sequel on 3DS!
So what are your top 5 Gamecube titles? 5 spots not enough? Feel free to use 10 if you wish
My top 10 10. Custom Robo 9. Metal Arms: Glitch in the system 8. Tales of Symphonia 7. Viewtiful Joe 6. Megaman X: Command Mission 5. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat 4. Pikmin 2 3. Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door 2. Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker 1. Metroid Prime 1/2
1. Kirby Air Ride- Critically underrated. 2. Super Smash Bros. Melee- Though I think Brawl is better, Melee is still a great time 3. Super Mario Sunshine- Another underrated gem. I frankly think it's better than the first Mario Galaxy. 4. Mario Kart: Double Dash!!- Again, the Wii version is better in my opinoin, but is still amazing multiplayer-wise. 5. Mario Superstar Baseball- Probably the best baseball VG I've ever played.
10. Mega Man Anniversary Collection 9. Tales of Symphonia 8. Super Mario Sunshine 7. Chibi-Robo 6. Pikmin 2 5. Paper Mario TTYD 4. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker 3. Metroid Prime 2 2. Metroid Prime 1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
1. Super Smash Bros. Melee - 2nd best fighting game ever (behind its sequel) with an unbelievable amount of replay value 2. Mario Kart: Double Dash - excellent Mario Kart entry that's even better than the Wii's version 3. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader - incredible space shooter based off the best movie franchise of all time; with its excellent graphics, presentation, and overall polish, it's hard to believe this was a launch title 4. Soul Calibur 2 - 2nd best fighting game on the Cube, would be #1 fighter on most systems (and is #1 for PS2/XBox); Link is playable 5. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle - without the treasure hunting levels, it would be the best Sonic game of all time; except for maybe Sonic 2, it contains easily the best competative multiplayer mode in Sonic franchise history; Chao, enough said
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Of course, that doesn't include great games like Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil 4, Wind Waker, Viewtiful Joe, Star Fox Adventure, Fire Emblem, Chibi Robo... man, the Gamecube was such a great system!
