@Retro: Its probably because in the end LJN offered more money. Its was good to see that Sunsoft didnt cancel the game when they lost the license. I dont know how many cool sounding games that were finished but never saw the light of day due to some technicality. Starfox 2
@Ryno: Shadowgate was one of my favorite NES games growing up. Although I liked Deja Vu a bit better, I guess it has to do with the 1940s detective background that Deja Vu has. Is that pic from the PC version?
@Ryno Amazing purchase dude! Oh man, I've been hunting that game down for so long. I want it so bad! IV is my favorite of the series. I was also looking for shadow gate yesterday. Whoa, it's like you were reading my mind. Great job getting both CIB.
@Tasuki: Thanks for pointing out my massively lame screenshot mistake, fixed it to the NES version (I think anyway). So are Shadwogate, Deja Vu, Uninvited, and a game called Rescue?? (in the picture per that pack-in poster with the copy of Shadwogate??) similar in the way they play?
@Retro_on_theGo: Great minds think alike Hope you find a copy of the AMAZING Super Castlevania IV. Just watch out for the bogey Majesco cheapo copies floating around out there. That is the kind of copy that Dracula and his ghoul cronies play.
I'm losing control. I just bought Resident Evil 2 for the N64. $14.91. Now I only have enough money for 1 N64 controller. Hopefully I can get some more money for that other controller. You need all 4-players for Goldeneye! Anyways, I heard RE2 was a good port of the ps1 game and I saw it at PlayNTrade and went for it. After those 2 N64 controllers no more retro purchasing for a while. Probably till after Mario Kart 7.
@Ryno: Lol Np man the only reason I noticed it was because of the Windows menu bar along the top of the screen. Deja Vu, Shadowgate and Uninvited do have the same play style cause they were made by the same company I am not sure about Rescue since I have never played it but yeah if you like the play style of Shadowgate I highly recommend checking out Deja Vu and Uninvited.
Edit: Ok after doing research the game Rescue that you mentioned is not made by the same company as the other two so I am not sure if that game is similar. I also included a pic of Deja Vu so you can see how similar it looks to Shadowgate.
@Ryno Haha, I'll make sure of that. I was going to buy Super bomberman once but it came with a lame B/W manual. I can't seem to find one in color though. Seems like it only comes in B/W, bummer. I'll be sure to get the castlevania IV manual in color though.
I just found 3 N64 games lying around! Only one of them seems good though. I found WCW/nWo Revenge, In the zone '98, and Madden 2001. I don't like madden and I could be wrong but every basketball game since NBA Jam sucks. So I won't bother playing those. The blue Madden cartridge looks real cool though.

@Tasuki: Rescue, The Embassy Mission was Kemco Seika too like Shadowgate. Looks interesting, never heard anything about it before? [youtube:sur1ksWch7M]

Nice work, Retro_on_theGo you are definitely living up to your name. ; ) Retro fever is fun, once you catch you cannot get rid of it. I like RE2, it is not a port of RE1 but a new game and it was my first Resident Evil experience. I have yet to see a color manual for Super Bomberman so I don't know if it even exists so you may have to get a B&W manual like you were saying but that is good that if you are going to pay extra for something to get it complete you are on the lookout for the color manuals! They are so much cooler.
@Ryno Awesome purchase regarding LOZ complete! I only have the gold Cartridges, but I'm still cool with that. Anyways, that massive ancient map totaly brings back memories back in the day when i was hanging out at some kids house from school....He was watching Jim Hensons The Dark Crystal downstairs(Or maybe it was The Never Ending Story, can't remember exactly) with a couple of girls and they kept giving me attitude for some freaky funky reason. So i decided instead to go up to his room and blast away at Bubble Bobble and the LOZ while using his map which was laying on the floor with this scattered NES collection. lol Like you, I stopped playing the LOZ starting with OOT(Although WW, PHG and now Links Awakening have kicked me back)....Then again, I've barely even played ALTTP. Instead I used to watch my best friend play it here and there at his house when he was head over heels for the game. It was even amazing just watch. Yet I was just too into Mario & Mega Man along with many other games at the time to want to dive deep into another Zelda Adventure. LOZ and Zelda II however are my nostalgia Zelda babies. That aside, i haven't bought a Retro purchase since Back to the Future for the Nes! I need to get on the Spooky Halloween NES train and dive deep into eBay land and spend some spooky Ghost Cash.
Man, that 3DS of yours must have you warped up in Dimension X because it has definitely been lately a no-go on your retro! Casey Jones is going to make a visit pretty soon to get your mind right
I am venturing beyond just getting the games now, I like all the things like maps and guides so looking forward to having LOZ complete in all its brillantly golden glory. There goes even more money $$$. Haha.. You should definitely play the masterpiece A Link to the Past if you enjoyed Link's Awakening, its number 3 for me behind Super Castlevania IV and Super Metroid.
DUDE! I was so planing on getting Shadow Gate complete this month for Halloween! Looks like you beat me to it! Shadow Gate was the first game in retro land existense to ever scare me and give me chills when i was 5 or 6...I remember renting it and only played maybe 30 minutes of it before calling it quits while having absolutely no idea what to do, but the main reason was that i was just too spooked to play it, since i was all alone in the dark....Shadowgate used to haunt my 8-bit nightmares...While completely causing a massive funky brain fart in the spookylooky process.
As for SCIV, hands down one of the greatest SNES games I've ever played and we ALL know by now that it's your favorite hehe...And seriously, why in the hell hasn't Konami brang back the Dangly' whip mechanic from SCIV? It was so awesome to use and to deflect enemy projectiles and the like. SCIV feels so original compared to the others in the franchise and it also boasts the most atmospheric Castlevania score out of the vamp sucking bunch as well.
Anyways, I'm guessing you've got quite the CIB Collection going on. I've only got 5 CIB Nes titles, must....buy...more....aghhh!!
I have never played ShadowGate so looking forward to the experiencing it for the first time. Hoping for a good jeepers creepers kinda game! You should be able to get a complete copy pretty cheaply nowadays. Yeah my collection is growing, by leaps and bounds. Like my only NES title that is not complete is your fav Super Mario Bros 2. I need to get me a box for it... Agreed the dangly whip issuch a sweet mechanic! Konami probably took it out from future titles becuase it you master it like a true Belmont you would be seriously untouchable! Oh and the music, what have we not said about it already right? I can listen to those any part of the day; driving, cooking, reading, hangin' with the wife, whenever!
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery

I'd be surprised if it doesn't. I'm not aware of an original non-Majesco release that didn't have at least a color cover. Might be harder to find a complete original Super Bomberman though. I think original release, all copies (at least North American) came with the Super Multitap in a big box. I do remember renting the game from Blockbuster and the rental included the multitap. (I remember they even used an extra large storage case to hold the game and tap). Certainly Blockbuster wouldn't pay extra to rent out a "premium" package. (though I also remember renting EarthBound and while they did rent out the strategy guide, since it WAS the manual, they didn't make a special rental case for it) I'm not certain if a small box game-only release actually exits. I see a couple "mint" listings on ebay that include an obviously faked box. Here is the only actual photo I can find of a small box. So I guess it exists. http://nintendoagemedia.com/_usermedia/attachments/bomberfron...
The games came in the mail yesterday. Double Dragon is a bit messed up. It is HARD to get out of the NES. Journey to Silius and Goldeneye work fine though. The controls in Goldeneye are real akward to me. I'm going to have to try hard to get use to them. Journey to Silius is fine though. Great controls, great music, awesome level design, unlimited continues, and the character looks like fry! Love it. All great deal. A little mad about Double Dragon, not sure why it gets stuck, but at least it plays. Overall these were awesome purchases!
Latest games I bought: Unreal Gold and Red Faction on PC. Great, classic PC games!

Not that retro, but I was in GameStop today, pre-ordering Skyward Sword. I was bored, looking through the GameCube games, and there I saw it: Pikmin 2. I live in a very rural area, so I have never even seen this before. I've always wanted a Pikmin game, specifically the second one, but $40 seemed ridiculousness to me. Well, the guy who labeled it put "Pikmin - $9.99" on there, mislabeling it. They honored the price though, so I got it for 30 dollars cheaper than normal.
Nintendo - Where even first person shooters ooze creativity.
I just bought a N64 controller. Good condition analogue stick. I was looking for 2 unfortunately only found one. Can't complain though. I got it for $4! I'll go back to the flea market tomorrow. Hopefully someone new will have another.
Got Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday SNES cart and manual I ordered from amazon. What's strange about this is while the cover of the manual is color and in normal glossy paper (which makes me guess it's an original release), the rest is black and white and in "rougher" paper. Never seen an SNES manual before that wasn't completely printed on glossy paper. Even the other B&W manuals I've got (Goof Troop and Monopoly) have been glossy.
an intense overhead shooter with bizarre music for the Sega Genny. great cutscenes as well i would suggest anyone with a Genesis to get this game. i used to rent it back in the day and got tired of thinking about it. this is another OGO recommend!

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
Just downloaded Super Metroid for my Wii and I'm going through it for the first time. (Curse you Metroid Prime Trilogy for causing me to get interested in this series!!)
