Nice buy Ryno!I need to add Chip 'n Dale to my collection, as it's one of my favorite Nes games growing up, and holy hell did i have tough time renting that one. It was always out at the video store. I'll be getting a couple more retro purchases in on my next paycheck hehe.
But yup! Here's a question.....Chip 'n Dale or Ducktales? Which one do did you guys find better of the two? For me, I'd say ultimately Ducktales was a bit better, but Chip 'n Dale seemed a bit more sacred and hyped up for and it was NEVER in, and I loved the hell out of the cartoon growing up, but the same goes for Ducktales.
Sadly Tail Spin(especially) and The Little Mermaid didn't fair too well in comparison to these 2 Capcom Disney Classics.

Ducktales or Chip N Dale. Thats a tough one Waveboy but I think I like Chip N Dale a bit more but that was due to the co-op play. As far as Talespin went yeah that game was a disappointment and I remember it being hard as hell compared to Ducktales and Chip N Dale. Capcom did slip there but I thought they redeemed themselves with Darkwing Duck.

@Retro_on_theGo Thanks dude! I loved me some Rescue Rangers co-op back in the day so I am glad to have this game again and bust it out when some friends are over. I never realized how much it was like SMB2! The tunes are defintely great. Capcom definitely was a master of music for the NES. Which retro systems do you have/collect games for?
No problem. I'm sure that game is a lot of fun to play with friends even today! Capcom really did a god job with it. Especially the music for me. They did have some of the best if not best music in the NES days. I have and collect for the SNES and N64. I'm planning on getting a NES once I'm done and have all the game I want for those 2 systems.

I bought Pokemon Stadium 2 on ebay! I've been trying to get it for a while now, but I always got out bid. So I decided to just get one listed as buy it now. So glad I did too. I loved this game so much as a kid I can't wait to play it again. Should be here in 4-5 days max.

Finally grabbed Super Robot Taisen for the Gameboy Advance. I should probably start it up soon since I've been fantasizing about giant robots destroying each other for a while now.

In terms of retro purchases, I don't really have any retro consoles right now, unless the GBA counts. I got Pokemon Yellow for that a LONG time ago. On the Wii VC, I got DKC2 recently but I can't play it with a GC controller, it just doesn't work. Especially with a third party GameStop one...
I just finished fixing up an old NES that the local Youth Center had in a box for so long. I didn't bring much with me, they didn't really have any Nintendo-made games (other than Zelda II which I forgot to bring with me ) so I grabbed TMNT 1, (don't care for it, I mistaked it for that 4-player one) The Jackal, (my sister and I have thoroughly enjoyed this one so far, though we can't get past level 2...) and Tetris. Tetris is by far my favorite, and whenever I sit down for a quick play I end up playing it for an hour.
It's too bad I have to take this thing back next August, when they open up again. It took me so long to realize that it was the lockout chip, and not the 72-pin connector like everyone had told me elsewhere. It was a tough battle, considering I had never had or even used an NES, but I was so happy to see it work. Though, there is one problem... The game doesn't play when I push it down into place, like it's supposed to be. However, it plays fine when I leave it up. Could this be a problem? I didn't think much of it, but I figured they aren't intended to be played that way. (The top of the case hasn't been put back on yet either, but I highly doubt that is the cause.)

I don't buy retro games for my retro consoles anymore, but I buy retro game collections for Wii:
I don't think PS2 and Gamecube are old enough to be considered retro machines. They're just last gen so I won't count ports and Wiimakes such as Bully, Okami, Pikmin and Resident Evil 4. I'm not going to count VC games either as there is a thread for this already.

Well I don't know if that would fall in "retro" category, but I've recently got Descent 1 & 2 pack from GOG (PC platform, of course) - I somehow managed to pass this game by when it was first released (although I was already a gamer back then and honestly don't know why I skipped it) and figured that GOG price cuts were a good reason to finally play them. Turned out to be a good choice - those two are awesome!
And I agree with SKTTR about PS2 and GameCube (also the first XBox) not being "retro" - they are too new systems to fall into that category.

Always looking forward to seeing what your next latest retro purchase will be WaveBoy As for Ducktales vs. Rescue Rangers I would say go with DuckTales first, it is more challenging. Rescue Rangers is fun but a little on the easier side but if you enjoy playing nes games while drinking your Hi-C Ecto Cooler and chomping down some California Raisins with a buddy instead of alone then I say go down the Chip & Dale route. Either way you are a winner!

I don't know much about the NES games Tale Spin, Little Mermaid, or Darkwing Duck but Darkwing Duck is the only one out of those three that I have read good reviews on so I may pick that up eventually. I loved all those cartoons, that would be awesome to have them all on DVD!
Has anyone every played Willow, that is another Capcom game I have (surprisingly) read good reviews about?
@Retro_on_theGo Hope you find all the N64 and SNES goodies you want! I missed out on the N64 as I went with PSX. Someday I may collect N64 but now I am working omy 2 favorite systems, the NES and SNES (heavy emphasis currently on the NES).
@noblo601 Nice buy on the Minish Cap, that one is in the pipeline for me to pick up.
@SKTTR Nice pickups, I just ordered Metal Slug Anthology as well for my Wii.

To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
I miss Japanese games, the good stuff... Games that are imaginative, have good and unique gameplay, a great soundtrack, and replay value.

I just got this. When I am going to play all these I don't know? Oh well, what I do know is that I will still be playing the NES and SNES 50 years from now!

Most recent imports. Poor Binary Land in the back, barely visible. A few obscurities that suck and a few that don't. (just waiting until my friend is ready for me to bring out the Famicom and a nice big stack of bad games he's probably never heard of )http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g155/sahagin/game0712.jpgHopefully in a week or so I'll be getting Pac-Land (FC) and Super Chinese 3 for FC and Dossun! Stone Battle for SFC.

I just got this total 80's game of one dude going to South America and facing some notorious drug cartel all the while saving some chicks along the way Yes, it is sealed but the wrap is crap so I am going to open this new sucker up and enjoy the experience that can only come along with opening a sealed NES game.
Here is my goal; to be a part of the Capcom Craze Club and try to get close to this dudes level: I have Strider, DuckTales, Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers, Mega Man 3 (opposed to Mega Man 2 as in the picture), and Code Name Viper all CIB. I hope my new copy of Code Name Viper has that sweet sauce poster, probably not though. I am totally going to remake this image someday...

I wouldn't try to recreate the Code Name: Viper guy, though. (first thing I noticed when I bought a loose Viper was that I don't think his back should be able to twist that far)
556. Posted: Fri 15th Jul 2011 18:10 BST
Haha... That dude from Code Name Viper is some sort of freaky contortionist! I am not going to recreate that I just love the superhuman characters of video games!

I bought Megaman X off ebay today! $8.02! Only 2 cents more then what it's worth on VC! If you don't count shipping that is. I had to pay $3.99 for shipping. Can't wait to play the game. Who needs VC when you can get the original thing for an equal or better price!

Two days ago I got The Adventures of Kid Kleets (otherwise known as Soccer Kid) for the SNES in the mail, and from what I've played of it thus far it's pretty cool

Nice work Retro! The best thing about the VC is that the actual Game Paks become more affordabe (less demand) after they are released on the VC!

Nice purchase there Starboy. I remember renting that game when I was kid other than that I am afraid I dont remember it much.
Just ordered this one from Ebay today for $30. Cant wait for it to get here in a few days
Notice how on the box it says 3 characters and 2 player co-op. Obviously a stab at the SNES version there.
