@Ryno: OMG I am so jealous, nice to see that you were able to pull yourself away from that Xbox One . I wish I can find a decent price for that game even if it's cart only. I have been seriously wanting to play it again. Ah well.
Anyway I spoke about this a few weeks ago when I won it in an online auction for 15 dollars. And today it arrived
Now I have nevery played this version, and only played the NES a few times over the years. I know it's a hard game, but I finally get to try it out for myself.
RetiredPush Square Moderator and all around retro gamer.
My second package that I was waiting for came today.
So now I will be playing with power TURTLE power.
As I said earlier I snagged this one for 5 dollars from the same auction site I got my last purchase from. I never actually played this game a whole lot. I remember my friend had this game growing up and I played it once or twice when I went over to his house, but why play this when he had the awesome Arcade port on his NES witH two player action, but I digress. Since this game will never come to the 3DS VC anytime soon I figure I'd add it to my collection.
@the_shpydar:
i may be able to hook you up with my die hard arcade saturn one, its cib.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
@ogo79: That would be awesome — except i don't have a Saturn (yet). Still need to pick one up, which i've wanted to grab if only for the original Virtua Fighter, which i love. For some reason, the later games, though good, don't have the same charm to me. I still remember walking into this laser tag place that my friend Jason and I used to go to frequently one summer during college and seeing VF when it had just come out. Blew me away, and i ended up getting pretty damn good at the game too.
This weekend I got the Super Famicom port of Xak: The Art of Visual Stage, and I just finished it today. On its own (and as an Ys clone which actually lets you move in all eight directions as opposed to four) I thought it was good. I really enjoyed its music and gameplay as well as the numerous areas, some annoyingly mandatory level grinding aside, but it was all worthwhile in the long run. Too bad the first in the series is also the only entry to get an SFC treatment, as the ending obviously is a sequel bait leading to the next game (and I don't own any formats which the sequels and spin-off Fray in Magical Adventure were available in) But hey, I was pleasantly surprised when near the end it turned into Dragon Spirit all of a sudden, which I honestly thought was the best part of the game, and I'm normally not that into shmups
Mega Man Battle Network 5 for the DS. It was the only MMBN game on the DS and the dual screens fit this type of game well. Before that is was Mario & Luigi 3: Bowser's Inside Story, and before that it was Mega Man Zero Collection.
The NDS has an insane amount of quality titles. Old enough to feel 'retro' but new enough to still be enjoyable with minimal aging. I'm not sure if NDS qualifies as retro yet, kind of in that grey area.
Currently Playing: SMITE, ROTTR, Halo 5: Guardians (XB1), Xenoblade Chronicles X (WiiU), Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 2 (3DS)
@StarBoy91 I quit at that part. I remember it being really frustrating, like only being able to shoot up and the boss wanting to hang out near the bottom of the screen. Something like that. And also the lack of a pause button. "I got a message on my phone that says 'can't talk. Playing Ghostbusters 2 on Nintendo.'"
@KingMike - admittedly it did take me a few tries before I got through that bit, but my solution was tapping the B button repeatedly with two fingers together for rapid fire and carefully positioning and distancing myself from the fire dragon attack and his attacks, because just holding it down is not fast enough
Ordered Snowboard Kids 2 for the N64, loose. So I hear it's a better Mario Kart ripoff. And probably among the next N64 games to go stupidly expensive. ($30-40 today probably means $100 by the end of the year at this rate)
At least from I read, this is one of the few third-party N64 games to have on-cart saving.
I wonder why nobody's yet (from what I can tell) basically made a flash cart replacement for the N64 memory cards (I mean like being able to save/load game save files from SD, possibly needing a homebrew memory card utility cart). When several games (even including this game's predecessor) wanted nearly a whole card to themselves, that was ridiculous then, and I'm surprised now.
Probably because it's not the NES or SNES. If it was, some kind of homebrew solution to that problem would've been made five years ago.
I got like five PS1 cards which is a manageable amount but it looks like there's a number of N64 games with high memory usage, and not just sports games (that I could avoid, since those were among the biggest offenders of memory card hoggery on newer consoles).
Also, Elevator Action CIB for the Famicom.
I hear the sequel was a better game and the Saturn port was said to be awesome but at $300 on ebay that's a pass.
Better to live with the supposedly buggy Taito Legends version.

Agreed. I also expect that since there is the N64 Everdrive which does support this, no one has bothered with a memory card hack/mod.
So I heard Fantasia for the Genesis regularly recommended if one wants to play a bad Disney game. I've watched a little bit of video on it, and it looks pretty average. Is it really "bad" or just "not good"?
I'm surprised at the number of sellers though with "complete. Just missing manual." listings. Do these people know what the minimal definition of "complete" is?
And the developer name. Was it really "Infogrames"? I always thought it was spelled with two 'm's. (isn't that usually how they spell things in its native Europe? )
You remember them? That's the real name of the current-day Fake Atari.
And I also ordered World of Illusion complete. Taking a gamble on amazon, not knowing if it's a plastic or cardboard release.
That should wrap it up for what is said to be the good Sega Disney games.
Gotta Catch em All!
Nearing completion of my original collection back in the 90s. I'm missing Batman and Terminator 2. In addition I want to pick up Belmonts Revenge and Final Fantasy Legends II. (Mole Madness and Donkey Kong Land are currently in the mail)
I've come to realize the best Game Boy games are always the Sequel titles. If it has a 2/II in the title, it's the game to get.
Totally enjoying every second with the Pocket again. I also feel that I dig the style of games that the Game Boy has. It's great to take a step back and play games that were limited in the bounds of the hardware like a Game Boy. They had to work with what they had and they came up with some clever tricks to squeeze the most out of a tiny 4mhz processor. I don't even mind the screen, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Finally, I might end up picking up a Game Boy Light in the future. They're still $80-100 on ebay but I'd love to get one for $50-60 so I'll keep my eyes pealed.
This is by far my favorite hand held to date and I've had just about all of them from the OG Game Boy to the Neo Geo Pocket, some DS's and even a PSP. The Pocket wins all day every day. Super long battery life, amazing gems to play, and of course it truly is a portable hand held. I wish we had more hardcore GB fans on here
Edit: Oh yeah, today I should be getting 20 yellow battery replacements for the carts. I'll be soldering them on the boards this weekend. All the games currently save but I'd rather refresh the batteries. Some of the batteries are 20+ years old haha.
