Wow, seems a lot of peope's Gamestops are already selling the retro games. I should go check if mine has any yet. Might find something good. Doubt it.

How much did all that come to? Because a lot of those are heavily sought after games, especially Goemon...

On a more random, yet retro note. WHY on earth didn't they make a He-Man game for the NES? A Pee wee's playhouse game would of also struck Gold. Ahhh(Then again, LJN probably would of been in charge. Double eek! Still, what could of been! :p

I think the main reason they didnt make a He-Man game for the NES is because He-man was pretty much over with by the time the NES came out. The original He-man ran from September 1983 to December 1985 for two seasons only. The NES was just only two months old in NA when He-man was done. By the time the NES became really popular He-man was gone for a few years and they were on to newer cartoons like TMNT for example. Of course I could be wrong this is just my thoughts on the subject.

Didn't stop them from making a THREE STOOGES game.
And Fester's Quest (since it was made two years before the movie) and The Lone Ranger come to mind as two other NES games based on significantly older properties.
And let's not forget the NES is the only console with TWO Tom Sawyer games. (well, one of them Famicom, close enough) :D

Isn't Evil Zone kind of expensive now? (pretty sure it's the game I'm thinking of. A fighting game with amazingly stupid voiced dialogue?)

I ordered a Shadow of the Ninja cart for $12 shipped from ebay.
From Japan, I ordered a loose Final Mission for the Famicom (the more punishing version of the already hard S.C.A.T.), since there's no way I'm going to afford the US version now. Along with King Colossus (CIB) and Mega Panel (loose) for the JP Mega Drive (probably shouldn't have admitted to the last one). ... and ... a new Genesis 6-Pak. Crazy I'd get a better price on a US game from a Japanese seller than a US seller, but okay. :)

I don't think so. I only bought it for $10, and it goes for about $20 after shipping on Amazon.

Crazy! I was just about to randomly download Shadow of the Ninja off of the Wii's VC last night before even seeing this, but i checked out Nintendo Life's review along with Nintendo Power's negative comment towards it, and read the luke warm reader comments and passed on it. Maybe i should justgo in with an open mind and see for myself if this is really is a Gnarly Gaiden or a Ninja Nasty. :p Have you played Shinobi III for the Genesis? It's on the Wii's VC and apperantly aside from Gaiden I and II it's one of thee' best Ninja Games around in Toobular Toon town. Shinob of coursei is nowhere near as cool as Ryu Hayabusa, but eh...As far as ninja gaming goes he's probably the next best thing. B-)

Regarding Shadow of the Ninja, I think it is pretty fun. The real challenge in this one as opposed to Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 is that you only have 5 continues (which are actually lives). I would love to try out the co-op with someone sometime. Overall it's a simplistic game but quite a challenge due to the limited lives. The music is great and they graphics are just alright. Gameplay is pretty tight though and playing as a Ninja is always fun. at least for me. I would say download if you are looking to test your Ninja skills. If you don't download it it will not be a big loss, though having a physical complete copy i$ nice.

I have Shinobi III on the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for the PS3 and I have tried it out a little bit but to be honest I wasn't a big fan of it and I don't think I'm a real fan of Genesis games in general either. To me, there just seems to be some quality missing form them. I don't know, maybe it's just the 12 year old kid that loved the SNES still in me. Anyway, I didn't like the throwing ninja stars and use your sword when up close Joe Musashi style. Maybe I just had to give it more time. I suspect I will give it another chance sometime, but eh, no rush..

Tasuki: Congrats dude, that is one Mega find! Now is it a MC Hammer To Legit To Quit factory seal or a Foot Clan reseal? Man, I would be so tempted to open a brand new NES system! Contact me when you find stuff like that, I will pay you daily double on deals like that. :) Oh, and use tinypic.com to host your own pics. It's easy cheese.

Nice find there as well OGO-GO. I still need a copy of that one. I would consider it retro, after all it's Double Dragon for Bimmy's sake!

@Ryno: I think it might be a factory seal although with those sealing machines that they have now adays I wouldn't be too surprised if it is a reseal. Half of me wants to open it up and see if it is the legit thing or a box full of junk but the other half of me wants to keep it sealed. Ah well maybe I will let it stew for awhile.

As for finding stuff like that I work at a Goodwill so I see alot of that stuff all the time. If you are interested you can go to shopgoodwill.com I think it is and they have all kinds of stuff from across the nation for sale. Heck the other day I was bidding on a box full of SNES games from there with some of the titles being Aladdin, Super Mario RPG, The Adventures of Batman and Robin, and SUper Double Dragon just to name a few. Sadly I was out bidded at the last moment. :( I am not sure what the winning bid was but my last bid was $45.

Ahh, i guess i'll give Shadow of a Ninja a try then, it's not like $5 is going to kill the Bogus bank anyways.
As for Shinobi III, i know exactly what you're talking about at least from watching a few YouTube videos....Like most genesis
titles the quality is lacking, and a huge chunk of that reason comes from the Genesis's weaker color pallette, muffled
scratchy chip tunes and drowning tingy SFX in comparison to what the SNES pumps out. When you're used to what the SNES dishes out, playing
the Genesis feels quite a bit off.

I beat Shinobi for the Game Gear on the 3DS's VC, and while it was a pretty decent ride to Ninja funky town it left
me feeling a bit....Icky? :p The quality in comparison to GameBoy color games just wasn't there....the visuals/art direction
had this lousy ameture look to them. The backgrounds especially were a complete eye sore and the entire thing felt
like a Mortal Kombat meets power rangers side scroller on Game Gear crack and completely fails in comparison
to Ninja Gaiden I-III. I've always hated the Game Gear..Hell, i was even unfortunate to own one during it's release.
I played it a lot during my trip to Disney Land, and every single game i got for that little piece
of junk was a distaster of an experience. lol

Anyways, Shadow of the Ninja it tis! that shall be my next VC purchase. I want something 8-bit, challenging, short
and sweet before i dive into some more meatier games like Metroid on the NES, Zelda ALTTP, Kirby's Return to Dreamland ect ect. :D

@Tasuki
Awesome Buy Tasookaboy!
I was about to splurge and get the NES Action Set at one point, but i frazzed out and decided
to put it on hold. :P I'd personally just love to have the actual Box....Ahem, and an NES advantage CIB. B-) Anyways, i say open up it up! You only live once, unless you're lucky enough to come back as a teenage mutant ninja Brewster. :o and speaking of Sealed retro purchases, i had a sealed copy of T & C Surf Design which i nabbed for $55 online, now there's 1 Sealed copy on eBay going for $120...Part of me wishes i hadn't opened it, but at the same to relive opening up a fresh new NES game like it was 1989' was pretty special.
