Well, even if it's censored on the SNES, I heard the Genesis version only has two of the four characters and only half the levels. (while the SNES has them all) Anyone know if that's true?
thats true, the snes version is closer to the arcade version. the genesis version has different levels and bonus levels
taros quest is very broken. its still being sold as a repro cart however.

I'd guess Dragon Wars as well? (a port of an Apple (II? Mac?) first-person RPG)
Released on Famicom, but the dumped NES proto even has a crash bug at the beginning of the game.
Another bad repro was Spy vs. Spy 2. Someone started selling a repro that turned out to be a ROM hack of the Famicom version. A few days later an actual NES proto turned up with some minute differences in the title (I forget what exactly, some minor text difference or positioning on the screen or something like that). I haven't played the game, but wasn't the title screen practically the only Japanese text in the game anyways?
@Wavester: Yep Vol 7. was my first issue of NP I later on got the first issue with the totally radical clay Mario on the cover from a garage sale some years later. I had a constant sub from Vol.7 up to the N64 era. My sub ended than and I was moving and low on cash at the time so I didnt renew it plus during that stage in my life I was more impressed with the PS than Nintendo. Unfortunately all my issues except for the first issue with the clay Mario, the 50th issue that covered Link's Awakening and the 100th issue is all I have left, all of the others fell apart due to how much I read them.
I don't know if its the same but I remember a show called Game Pro that was hosted by a dude named J.D. Roth that would talk about game secrets and all that jazz that was one of my must see Saturday morning shows. Yep sitting in front of the tv stuffing your face with cereal on a Saturday morning was so great. God those were the days.
And nice purchase on the controller stickers dude. I remember getting those stickers and putting them on my NES controllers in fact the NES controller still has well the remnants of one to this day lol.
Also have to say that is one happening Michelangelo you have there too. That is totally an 80's meltdown there man. Just seeing that stuff makes me want to run down to my barber have him give me a mullet.
Think I will go on a little retro binge tonight and pop in some classic TMNT cartoons while I guzzle down a case of Crystal Pepsi. YEAAAAAH BUDDY!!!
Just bought a WHOLE lot of gameboy games off of a site called Luke Games, which sells pretty much EVERYTHING at very low prices, so it's worth checking out. If anyone's interested, here's a link: http://www.lukiegames.com/
Currently playing: Rhythm Heaven, Minecraft (XBLA), Pokemon B/W 2, Halo 4, The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave, Fallblox, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GCN)
Will be playing soon: Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Cave Story +, Wii U: NSMBU, Nintendo Land, (And lots more!)
@KingMike
about 6 days ago the repro cart turned up here: http://www.gamereproductions.com/index.php?dispatch=products.... and i think youre right about the title screen being the only japanese text in the game. @BayCraig100
ive been messing with lukie games for over 3 years now, there pretty good about things, only thing with them is that they dont show you the actual game youre getting for people with condition interests. one time they sent me a busted rf adapter for my top loading nes, i called them and they sent me another one for free, but it took months to get it. i didnt care because i had another one. thats the only time i had problems.

Just got metroid prime hunter first hunt today at a pawn shop for $5 (was $5.99 but he was kind and shorten the price, but then again it had no case), its a alright game it had a survival mode (best mode on it) and local multiplayer with two other modes that are pointless. Its like a game that they could of put on the dsi ware.
@KingMike: Here is a cool write up on the comparison of the SNES & Genesis versions of Sunset Riders. It's interesting that Konami frequently made different versions of games for the two consoles. But that sucks man, I don't know about getting a refund from Google Wallet. Paypal is good about getting you a refund which I have needed to use twice and both from Ebay sellers.
@Tasuki: You are so lucky you still have all your orld games instead of buying them again!
@Wavebros 2: Are the Turtles super heroes? If so Batman Returns is second best behind TMNT IV. As for Mystical Ninja, I think it it's either a love it or hate it type of game. I happen to consider it a unique gem but then again I liked Actraiser and you didn't . Chillin' in towns within video games are not your thing; you are all about Action Jackson. Is that an actual picture inside the Waveboy beach bungalow and of some of the awesome 80's collection? If I had some spare controllers I would rock the Nintendo Power stickers but as of now I only have 2 so I am keeping them OG.
Just got Thunder Force II for $5 complete at a retro store. Not a bad price, but I actually would've prefered it without the box. These things take up so much space. As for the game itself, I hear it's okay. I'm not expecting much, at least.
What I am most happy about is that I just won Lightning Force on ebay for under $20. I hear it's the best in the series, and I hope it meets my expectations. It's coming from the next state over, so I hope it arrives by Friday.
I'm now watching an eBay listing of Thunder Force III, which is also supposed to be pretty good. I hope it doesn't get too expensive.
Found a complete copy of Shadow of the Ninja for a decent price. Some many know it as the original SOTN before a time when video games were abbreviated. My quest to collect the Ninja games is one stealth move closer to coming to fruition!.
Joe & Mac for the NES. The box is pretty rare. Certainly not the best game there is but at least there are dinosaurs in it. Plus you save bodacious cave babes like the one on the cover!
@Ryno: HAHA yeah I am lucky that I held on to a few gems. Don't get me wrong I did sell alot of my NES games but my top favorites I held on to which I find extreme lucky cause some of them would have cost me a fortune to rebuy now. Stuff like Earthbound and Chip N Dale 2 just to name a few. Nice purchase on the Joe and Mac. I never played the NES version but I did enjoy the SNES version especially with another player. Thats one of the games that I never owned but wish I did. Let me know if that NES version is just as rockin as the SNES version.

Looks like Lightening Force is going up. I probably a bought my cart from a store a couple years ago. But it looks like the store bought it sometime in 2008, and priced it at $8, so it probably wasn't even worth that much then.
The other shooter carts I got from that place over the years were Hellfire, Wings of Wor (maybe $10 each), Insector X ($5 with case), Viewpoint ($5 complete).
Joe & Mac is another one I wonder if it has shot up. Got it when it was pretty much worthless. Now the listings I see are over $10 for the cart (of course, not enough actual sales).
I just ordered a Gunstar Heroes cart for $14 and a Ranger-X cart (I hear that's another good unknown game) for about $8.
@Mickeymac: Have any other boxes/cases that are taking up to much space and you want to get rid of?
All 5 of my Genesis ones can go, but I don't know if you have the games (Herzog Zwei, Gemfire, Sagaia, Exile, and Thunder Force II). I have some GBA and DS boxes, too, but they go to some of my favorite games ever, so I'm keeping them.
I just gotta get another box and store them in the basement like I do with my PS2 boxes, but I'm running out of room down there, too. Well, unless I start stacking boxes on the floor...
We don't have much room in this house for some reason.
Rockman's Soccer and I heard there were some differences so I ordered a fairly cheap Rockman 7 cart even though I already have a MM7 cart.

I have no doubt that it'll be good...it's just that I feel like I overpayed for it. I could've gotten it real cheap on Amazon (~$8 after shipping), and it would've been cart only. Instead, I accidentally bid on a complete copy and it wound up costing me over $20. And I don't have much more room for Genesis Boxes, as I've said before.
