The Original Game Boy! I got it when I was like 4. Technically my Dad got it for himself cause he wanted to play Tetris, but I would play it more than him so eventually he just said it was mine which made me happy. For the longest time all I would ever is play is Tetris.
Until of course I got.....

My SNES! Actually I didn't get this that long after getting the Game Boy (again when I was like 4). My dad bought this for himself too, because at the time I wasn't all that crazy about games except for Tetris, but he was trying to get into them since he had fond memories of the arcade with my mom and sort of wanted to relive them. But like the Game Boy I would eventually play it more than he did cause I was 4 and it amused me so eventually he said it was mine. We got "The Mario Bundle" which included Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars on one game Cart and two controllers which at the time didn't seem that great to me cause I couldn't grasp concepts that were that awesome. I just wanted to play. Looking back that has to be one of the best bundles ever especially for the 90's.

When I was little every time my dad tried to get into video games for awhile he would play it for a week or two before I would wanna play it and I usually wouldn't let him play unless it was 2 player so I guess I kinda ruined video games for him. Now he doesn't look twice at them and I'm still pretty obsessed with them

The first system my family owned was the original NES w/ the SMB/Duck Hunt combo cart and light gun a couple years after it came out (87-88 maybe?) when I was five. The first system I bought with my own money was an old SNES when I was in high school (this was after PS1 came out) my neighbors were having a garage sale and the sold it to me with Super Mario World, Super Mario All-Stars, Zelda: A Link To The Past, Mega Man X, & Mega Man 7 all for $20.

The first system I ever owned was either an SNES or a Genesis (Mega Drive to Europeans). I was born when my dad had both, but I don't know which one he had first.

I'm gone. Good f*cking bye.

Mine was a Sega MegaDrive, then a SNES! (With the fantastic Super Mario World + All Stars Bundle!)

My dad came back with a console that played Pong in about 1982, but my first real system was an Acorn Electron computer. My friend had Elite on his Model B BBC Micro around about 1985, but my mum could not afford it so she bought us the Electron.

I broke my shoulder up falling out of a tree when I was 10, but I was still able to play games on my first personal computer. Ha, ha, old school gaming memories (25 years ago!)

I am passionate about retro gaming, from antiquated consoles to the continuation of classics. Obviously I love PSone, and PS2 retro games. I blast my ears to breakneck melodic punk, gruff vocals and nimble alternative guitar hooks.

It was some kind of Atari. No idea on what model though. It was black plastic with plastic faux wood-grain on the sides. It was a hand-me-down from someone I can't remember. Then my folks bought an 8bit Nintendo just after they came out. I remember always walking in to Toys R Us and commenting on how the games were so freakin expensive.

My first handheld was a Gameboy. I think I was in the 8th or 9th grade. My family has just come out of Church/Sunday School to get in the car and drive home. It was a hot summer day so the car windows had been left open. When we got in the car, my sister and I noticed there was a black cloth case in the back seat. Inside was a Game Boy and several games. The best we could figure is that some kid brought it to church against his parents wishes so they took it away from him and dumped into the nearest car, which just happened to be ours. Thank goodness our windows were down. No one ever claimed it.

1990. Game Boy packed with Tetris, bought Super Mario Land along with it. I was hooked on it. Then, after a year or so my neighbour introduced and sold her Nes to me along with the Gold cart of Zelda and Track & Field 2. Great times!

With kind regards,

My first system was an original NES with the Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt combo cartridge. It was given by my grandparents after I had played Super Mario Bros. for the first time at a schoolmate's house and couldn't stop talking about it for weeks. I didn't realize it at the time, but my parents didn't really want me to have video games but my grandparents didn't know that.

Bobpie

My first home console was the now barely used PS2.

Got an Odyssey 400 Pong system at a garage sale in 1979 when I was 8. That's it on the right. I still have it to this very day.

Are we related?

Actually, my first system was SNES, but my first handheld game was Tetris (But I bought a GBA)

I miss having a chatroom that was always in beta.
