Topic: Yoshi's Island Super Mario Advance 3 discussion

I haven't been on NL for a while, because of moving. Im back on hurray! Besides that, lets get started!

I bought this game about 1 1/2 weeks ago just because I like yoshi, and mario platformers. I bought this game plugged it in and saw the epic title screen with the mode 7 island and non-scaling main features. I was literally just crapping my pants at the look of a ported SNES game on my GBA SP. I started the first level, Easy. and childish looking. I got deeper in. Normally a platformer or a game with this art style makes me want to run for the hills. This game was much different for me. It had such luring things in it, like the platforms you jump on to move them like a wheel, the egg-throwing mechanic and the different moves yoshi just has---AND NOT MANY INSTANT DEATHS!!! I liked how the only way to loose lives was to fall off(rare), get goosed by spikes(common far on) and loosing baby mario to the hands of evil after the time runs out. Im not even done with it and i am literally amazed by how deep and fun this game is.

What are your thoughts on this highly imaginative game?

Im hardcore playing it right now. I got stuck on Marching Milde's Fort, I passed it--- onto level 4-7!

I played Yoshi's Island countless times on the GBA, and I must say, it is one of my favs.
If any game should get a 3D Classic remake, its that game.

i would sell my soul if thats what it would take XD yosi is my favorite character and this game was an awsome-splosion

I think it's my most played VC game on my 3DS

Well I think collecting over 700 lives in the game speaks for how much I played it back on the GBA.

Don't worry I assume GBA games will come to eShop very soon, they might just be waiting to combine the generation together you know put GCN on WiiU and then put GBA on 3DS

I would be so happy if they brought gba to vc soon. I want Super monkey ball jr on my 3ds. that game was nails to the chalkboard hard. but it was fun. I also think Yoshi's island would be bought again for my 3ds.

I only recently beat all the Extra levels.

This is seriously my favorite 2d platformer of all time. Better than any other Mario. Better than DKC2. Better than Kirby's Adventure, the first game I ever beat. Better than Klonoa or Tomba or Little Big Planet or anything you can think of or any indie game I've played. No hyperbole.

I got annoyed by crying baby Mario so I usually played it with no volume which is disappointing and what is with Yoshis like sharting out eggs?

It is the most graphic and torturous video game death of all time. Poo pooin'.

I just started playing it today, actually. It was one of the 3DS Ambassador games and shamefully I'd never played it before. It's absolutely gorgeous, the music is adorable and the level design is creative, but the whole Baby Mario thing is REALLY infuriating. I don't really get how it adds to the game. I'm also playing through its sequel Yoshi's Story on the Wii VC right now and I'd say its just as fun, if not as visually perfect. Once you realize collecting certain kinds of fruit gets you more points the game becomes a lot more fun and challenging.
