Hello My name is David. I recently purchased Gyromite for Nintendo so I could possibly find one of the many Famicom Nes Converters inside to play my Japanese Copy of New Ghostbusters II. Anyway before I even thought about taking Gyromite apart I decided to put it in my NES to see if it still worked. To my Surprise the game that showed up was Wrecking Crew....I sat there mystified wondering if has happened to anyone else. I hit reset a number of times and even turned the power on and off just to make sure it wasn't anything to do with the game its self. Well it turns out the circuit board inside was that of Wrecking Crew. So I ask you any of you has this ever happened before? How many copies of Gyromite out there have wrecking crew inside instead of the intended game? Was it a matter of a simple label mix up at the factory? Was the deed of someone playing a prank perhaps the previous owner? Was it a hardware change when programming the cartridge? Hell if I know but all in all I just want to know if I am the only one who possesses a copy of Gryomite like this and if I am the only one or one of few is it at all valuable? I tried looking this up many times and I get nothing. Any help would be greatly Appreciated. You can comment on this thread or leave me an email at niedemencj&#... Thank you for reading.

Wow, weird! Never heard of such a thing before. I'm assuming you got Gyromite second-hand (or third-hand, etc), so i'd presume it (the board) was swapped for some reason by someone long before it found its way to you.

Yeah its pretty easy to swap out the "guts" of one NES game and put them into a different cartridge. What it probably was was the previous owner got more money for Gyromite than Wrecking Crew. So the person swap the guts from the two games thus keeping Gyromite and getting rid of Wrecking Crew for a better price.

I remember years ago just before the SNES came out I bought a used copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade game. I ran home excited since I have been wanting this game for a long time imagine how mad I was when I popped it in my NES and saw the start up screen for Super Mario Bros.

I don't see the point. I thought Gyromite was valued more for the converter and not the actual game?

That's probably why someone previously swapped it out. They grabbed the Gyro board, threw in Wrecking Crew and got rid of the cart.
