I haven't really "got" all the hype over the new Golden Sun for the DS, so I checked out the GBA version and I'm having a blast with it right now. The battle system owns. I'm really looking forward to the DS sequel now.

I probably will if I continue to dig it.

I bought my original GBA system because of Golden Sun. Once I saw a video of it, I knew I had to have it. I just recently went through the first one again, and now when I get a moment, I'll be going through "The Lost Age." Glad you're enjoying it!

Yeah, the semi-3d battle system is incredible to watch.

The Golden Sun series is probably the worst RPG series I've ever had the misfortune to play. How it got some many fans I've never understood. The games are actively TRYING to be as bad as they can in every single way.

We should burn Adamant like the witch she is. Not liking Golden Sun, what is wrong with you?

I borrowed the original Golden Sun and was really bored by it, but I didn't play it long. If I had the chance, I'd give it a try once more, but I'm not sure if my patience for RPGs has improved at all over the years.

Come on, friends,

Well, I'm farther into it, annnnnnnd... The first dungeon sucks. It's really boring, and it's way too easy to get lost in the corridors. With the random battles, it's getting annoying. So I just played Earthbound again for an hour, and have increased my love for it 100%. I had no idea you had to buy armor and weapons at a drugstore, LOL.

I guess some people feel towards Golden Sun the sheer disgust I feel for Earthbound. Different strokes...

@Corbie: I don't feel disgust towards it, but the first dungeon feels generic and unimaginative. At least Earthbound has captivated my attention, and made me chuckle several hundred times.

Well everyone's tastes are different. That's what makes the world go round.

I remember getting really mad when I got stuck somehow on the bridge at the beginning of Golden Sun and quit playing it for weeks and picked it up an got right through where I got stuck and couldnt put the game down. Not sure if I played the Lost age or not I need to grab it.

I was coming to congratulate you on finding Golden Sun, but it appears you've un-found it. Ah well. I have enough Golden Sun love for several average-sized humans.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

@PhoenixSage: By no means have I lost it, it'll just take me a while to plod through the part I'm at.

@pixelman: Oh, good. Yeah, even though I love Golden Sun, I have to admit it gets difficult at parts.

By the by, what part are you at? I'm guessing it's the cave on your way to Bilibin from Vault. That part does get really old fast. I always want to skip it.

Wow, totally freaked out on that one. I think of that part more as an introductory sequence as opposed to a dungeon, but it really is. Don't worry, it gets a lot better. At least I didn't give away any plot-relevant details.

On another note, If I slip up one more time talking about Golden Sun, may Isaac appear and chop off my head, because I deserve it (the chopping, not the head).

I sure hope so. I thought the very first part was more fun, but this is just dragging on and on and on.

Yeah, I had this game. To bad it got wet, and my save file that I had been the furthest in happened to be the only one affected by the water...

Did anyone else try to figure out that confusing multiplayer in it? I never understood how to play it.
