Topic: Worst Zelda moments 2.0

This thread has been redone because people misunderstood the topic. I basically meant YOUR worst moments, not the worst moments in general (i.e. no complaints/annoyances). Basically, this is a "worst fails" list.

What are the worst moments you've ever had in a Zelda game?

1. I got lost several times in the Forbidden Woods in Wind Waker (I didn't know what the cauldrons were for until recently)
2. I had so much trouble in the Forsaken Fortress that I actually sold the game and didn't buy it again until years later
3. I couldn't figure out the spider web floor puzzle in the Deku Tree or the mini-Gohmas (I actually thought he latter were the Deku's brothers). This was on my first playthrough.
4. I died to Gohma several times.
5. My map for the first game got damaged and lost because I didn't know you needed it
6. I went into Dark World without the moon pearl
7. Not realizing I had to draw Whale Island before whacking the statues
8. Getting lost in Wind Waker due to the vastness of the ocean, often resulting in me forgetting what I did last
9. I did a sidequest by accident once (not realizing it was a sidequest) that gave me my second bomb bag (like I really needed it)
10. I also got lost in Jabu Jabu's belly.

I got bored of the sailing in Windwaker??
I genuinely find them pretty easy games, didn't die in Windwaker at all.

I do remember having trouble with the ranch mask in Majora's mask when you have to defend the barn from aliens the first time or two that was a pain.

Colors

I spent 3 hours in Link's Awakening DX searching the village after beating the first dungeon boss. Turns out the boss I beat was the mini-boss and I hadn't beaten the real boss yet.

Do you mean the jumping puzzle with the statues? God, I was so clueless at that time.

Me too. I was on that puzzle for at least a half-hour the first time around. Complete tragedy.

Another Twilight Princess Personal Fail moment: dying on the last room of the Cave of Ordeals. If only I had known what that place was when I first entered...

Wait, what? You need to enter the Dark World in order to get to the Moon Pearl.

LOL, this made my day. In the other thread, I said my worst moment was when my only game over in OoT was at the hands of a cucco. Well, I just remembered something even worse. When I played OoT for the first time, I beat Gohma in less than 60 seconds, and it never even occurred to me to use the slingshot.

In Ocarina of Time I attacked some cuccos in Kakariko Village and then they attacked me, I didn't know about that as it was my first time playing the game, they almost killed me but fortunately I got to the house before that. Then I searched if that house would have hearts somewhere and stupid skulltulaguy jumps straight to my head (I was in House of Skulltula) and I almost screamed as I thought I'd die because of that freaking Skulltula! Well, at least I didn't die but it surely wasn't funny...

It's its, not it's.

I just hated the Dominion Rod. Could have done without that item, statues, and puzzles. I even prefer the Command Melody in Wind Waker (which was horrible) because at least the controls weren't awful, it's just that you had to play that damn song over and over.

Twilight Princess - Still can't figure out the Sky Palace
Wind Waker - Got bored looking for the Triforce pieces
Ocarina of Time - Had to look up on the internet (back in the original days in 1998-99) that you could pick up Princess Ruto and use her to flip switches
A Link To The Past - Had to break the seal on the cheat guide to get to the Tower of Hera and get the 3rd pendant and Moon Pearl

I had the problem with Ruto too!

11. I spent several minutes trying to lure the cat toward its home (it follows the fish even when it's on the rod)
12. I didn't know you could use the hawk to get the basket away from the monkey

I was replaying Spirit Tracks recently, and I somehow managed to push a block into a position that trapped a Phantom in a corner of the room right next to the safe zone I was in. If I stepped out, it would see me, and I would have to walk right past it to get out of the corner.

Really? I thought that part was awesome, was pretty creative I'd say.

My worst fail moment in Zelda...probably never finding out how to get the Red Tunic in OoT and also the proper way to get to the Fire Temple. I had to do it the hard way using the Goron replica sword and leaping off the top of the cliff narrowly missing the lava and having to run through rooms in the temple while the timer was counting down. Felt pretty difficult in respect to the rest of the game and I only found out after that it was because I was doing it wrong. Zelda fail.

Edit: Basically, I had to do this to get there.

Then, when I was in the temple, I had to do this, but without the help of the glitch shown.

I did the same thing, except with the water temple. Forgot about king zora being frozen so I went into the water temple without the blue tunic. Every time i had to swim it was a nightmare of countdown's and switching boots. Made it impossibile to focus on the puzzles. Now when I come back to it in the remake i find it incredibley easy.

It actually took me ages to finish the first temple in TP.

The only prominent memory I have is not being able to complete the task as Darmani (Goron mask) inside the moon and saying screw it and went to fight Majora's Mask.

I still regret not ever getting the Fierce deity mask, but hey at least I beat the game.

I had to figure it out by accident because I didn't know the DS has this functionality with the game.

LOL I had to use Gamefaqs for that!
